I have a question I started working in an office, and its like 30 min. from my house. my problem is that I don't like to eat and the lunch room its not fun, so i am going to different restaurants like burger king etc etc BUT i eat salads.. I know i'm gonna get fat!!!! are the salads from fast food healthy?? sometimes i eat turkey subs are they healthy? what can I eat i don't want to gain weight! please help!! thanks Felicity
Dulce_Angel_Whispers Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 Why are you obsessed with getting "FAT" I have to ask...do you have an eating disorder? Why would eating SALAD no matter where it's from make you "FAT" as long as you are eating FF dressing and watching how much cheese (if there is cheese on the salads you eat) and making sure you monitor your portions then there is no reason why you should gain weight. Turkey also is healthy but you have to watch that you are using FF mayo (if you eat mayo) and again it's about portion control. Have you ever been overweight is this why you're scared to regain or is it something else? Wendy's side salads are very good and healthy and filling and subway has the low fat subs or if you don't want to eat a whole 6" try the round sandwiches they even have just veggie subs! There are lots of things you can do to watch your weight but hopefully you realize there is WAY more to YOU than just your waist size. Super shallow people don't seem to realize that (not that you are shallow since I don't know you I won't assume you are). Oh yeah and McDonald's has really good side salads also. Oh yeah I have to ask: Why the name Felicity? Didn't the girl who played in that show have an eating disorder too?

wideawake Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 Ask the Burger joints for the Nutritional Info Sheets that will break down the total calories, fat grams, protein grams, and carbs in all of those foods. Than make your own choice on what to eat. I would bring my lunch though, but if you don't have access to a fridge than I can see how you could be jammed up.

It all comes from the dressings and, let's see...some salads have bacon and not to mention eggs and cheese...ham, etc. bring your own food make some whole wheat peanut butter and banana sandwiches...hmmm I love

The dressing isn't fattening if you order Fat Free or FF dressing and use it sparingly. Where would the fat from pure vegtables come from? Yes bringing your own lunch is probably best so you Know whats IN the lunch you're eating so no "FAT" sneaks into your belly.
moimeme Posted June 9, 2004 Posted June 9, 2004 Most workplaces have fridges. It's a piece of cake to make up your lunch while you have breakfast - and you save a TON of money! You don't have to eat in the lunch room. Where I work, lots of people eat at their desks and then go for a walk for the rest of their lunch hour.
