riggs Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I'm a courier for FedEx and am interested in a woman that has signed for packages 4 or 5 times. The last two times she said hi first and this past week she had a 2 sentence reply to a comment I made about Leap Day while maintaining eye contact. So based on that, I have a pretty good idea she might be interested. I will approach. The problem is her office doesn't receive deliveries on a regular basis and when she has signed some of her co-workers are within earshot and that makes me a little self conscious about asking her for her number. Comments? Not really looking for advice, but anyone else been in a similar spot?
Ninjainpajamas Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Tell her you have a package to sign..............in your bedroom
veggirl Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Slip her a note with your contact information and she can choose what to do with it. Asking her out at work is really unprofessional and could put her in a very awkward spot if she is not interested.
Author riggs Posted March 5, 2012 Author Posted March 5, 2012 I was going to introduce myself, then ask it it would be of if I call her. I don't know, giving her a note with my contact info would seem a little creepy and arrogant.
dasein Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 This one is pretty easy, you or a friend Fedex people in the office some meaningless sales stuff, pick up catalogs from other businesses in the b2b market and send someone in her office those catalogs. They will never know the difference. This will give you all the opportunities you need to get in front of her. When you go to deliver and she's there, ask her to lunch and you will have your answer on the spot.

I think it gives her the chance to think about what she wants to do, puts the ball in her court, and doesn't put her on the spot. Regardless, however you make a move just be respectful that she is at work (as are you, of course) and make sure it's out of earshot of gossipy coworkers, etc.
Author riggs Posted March 5, 2012 Author Posted March 5, 2012 Oh yes, definitely. I will be very casual about it. It's an architectural firm and her coworkers are engrossed in their day's tasks so I don't think they are actively eavesdropping. 1
ecm Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 why not? or...you could keep talking to her and see it she continues to give you signs/ hints, etc. There's nothing wrong with making new "friends", right? No pressure that way (unless Fed Ex has a rule against it or something)
Author riggs Posted March 5, 2012 Author Posted March 5, 2012 No rule against it per se, but there have been drivers get in trouble for repeatedly hitting on girls. A common occurrence are girls developing an innocent crush, knowing I come in the same time everyday etc. This could be a case of that. It will drive me nuts until I ask because there is no doubt she was glad I said more than hi the last 2 times.
