Philosoraptor Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Some love is unconditional, relationships are very conditional. When you've found the right love and the right relationship you will be a positive statistic.
PratyekaYana Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Philosophically, I am inclined to see the purest form of love (which perhaps corresponds most closely to the idea of agape) as wholly unconditional, but I suspect that a great many of us (myself included) lead our lives without ever having approached that ideal. Thus, in terms of the love that we do routinely experience, I would say that both it and the relationships that contain it are conditional things.
wilsonx Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 (edited) Agree or disagree? Agree. Good for you glove slap Being unconditional IS a condition. disagree with this. You are looking at this from inside the box. Glove slap has stepped out of the box. Keep moving with this glove slap, you are getting it. Edited March 1, 2012 by wilsonx
CLS63AMG Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 It could indeed be very much more simple. What if both parties are just incredibly complacent? I am sure the 50% that stay married can be sliced up into MANY different scenarios and the ones that are truly still in deep love are about as common as seeing two grey hairs holding hands, and that is a rare sight indeed. I think I can count on one hand the amount of those that I've seen...
