OrangeSnack Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 What is the general rule of thumb of giving a gift to a friend (that you are not very close with but you like her and would like to begin the process of dating) What kind of gift is it? Well, bath salt. I was on a business trip and I was sold on these native american bath salt. I bought two, one for a friend that originally introduced me to her and one for her (the girl I like). we will be meeting up tomorrow night with other people and I definitely do plan on giving the "others" small gifts. But the bath salts were the only one that was "monetarily" worthy. I'm kind of skeptical about giving bath salt to someone who I barely know. I want to send messages but not in a wrong way. We did have a good 15 minutes of conversation but regardless that could just be per "talkative" personality. Ladies, do you think the bath salt is too much as a gift? My instinct tells me no because I usually buy small gifts for friends when I travel. Sometimes I just think too much . Thoughts and opinions?
reallyhotguy Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Not a woman, but imo it's one of those things that's more likely to backfire than it is to help you -- right now. Timing is everything. I'd say just hold onto it for a while. Ask her out on a date, and when things start progressing, you can give it to her with a cute story about how you held onto it.
