laotzu Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 (edited) In the interest of public disclosure, and also, in the interest of giving people some hope about online dating, I thought I'd share my recent experience. A little over three weeks ago, I went out with a girl from an online dating service for the first time. She was the second person I went out with after starting Match again, though I had only had my profile up for a week or so. We were intimate fairly quickly, and I kissed her on the first date. She's pretty, smart, and well educated. She's spent the night a few times and, while we haven't verbalized it, the trajectory is towards something exclusive. (I think we probably are already exclusive, considering we see one another whenever we have free time.) So, for all the bad apples, there may be a good one out there. I wanted to let people know. Whether or not it's worth it, I'll bet - between Match, OKC, and eharmony - I've gone on dates with well over ten women. Edited February 26, 2012 by a LoveShack.org Moderator
lospantalonsfancie Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Yes, it does happen. I met my last girlfriend on OLD, and we were together for the better part of a year. She was drop dead gorgeous, perfectly sane, highly intelligent, and just a joy to be around --- the kind of person you very rarely meet in real life. However, things didn't work out in the end for various reasons. Now, I hadn't been using OLD for very long before we met, so this elevated my opinion of OLD. Since that relationship ended, and I have been OLD again, I have been blown away by the freakshow that has ensued. Though that may also have something to do with the fact that I moved from a part of the country known for relatively attractive women to a part known for ugly women with bad attitudes.
