Btw how old are you? Im curious. And cool beans for being honest. I think many people prefer an empirically attractive person but just dont say so because they dont wanna be seen as shallow. I dont think its shallow though.

Just curious but what to you is "empirically attractive"? I know a lot of it has to do with symmetrical facial features, is that what you mean?

I'm in my thirties and look like I'm in my twenties. Size 00 and weigh under 100 lbs.

Yikes...how tall are you? You seem pretty dang small. 100 lbs is one thing...but under? yowzer

Just wondering if you height matches your weight and you arent like rail thin...because if you are, then youre definitely asking a lot if you expect a guy to be an underwear model. Because female underwear models are a lot bigger.

Youre right about the "glamour" parts of peoples bodies. I notice girls do this too....they simply do cardio at the gym and thats it because they think lifting any weight will make them "bulky like a guy" Wish more chicks would tone up some after they lose weight with cardio. Firm is good. And a lot of folks who workout definitely dont focus on their lower body like they should. O wells.

And im not as picky as you about facial features...plus hollywood does have a variety of facial features in its stars. I do want a girl to have nice teeth though.

I agree, I don't think it's shallow at all. Why should someone date anyone they aren't attracted to?

Agree about the cardio thing too, I think girls should do kettlebells aswell

The term "empirically attractive" means a person who is generally seen as attractive by most people. Hence the usage of the word empirically. All things being equal...I think all people would choose that person. However, this is the real world, and all things are not equal from person to person. So we have to chose person who has the most of what we want and fits us best.

I'm not rail thin. I'm a 5ft tall. I'm a "spinner". Guys love "spinners".

Eh...some guys do...youre too small for me =P. Id feel like a giant and Im only 5'9.

Keep doing what youre doing though. Put on some weight though home girl. Get them curves lol

Big guys love little petite girls they can carry around and have sex standing up with in the air.... at least from my experience.

Haha, I've always wanted to do that. Even better if she's flexible :D

(legs behind head and all that lol)

I dunno...the big gym guys Ive know dont partcularly go ga-ga about super small 5 ft tall girls. They like thin curvy girls who are like 5'3 and up. The taller dudes who are like 6'0 and over usually had girlfriends who were at least 5'7.

Unfortunately, terms don't always mean the same thing to everyone. As I've said before "dollar" used to refer to a piece of paper I could go into a bank and exchange for 25 grams of silver. Doesn't mean the same thing anymore (unfortunately). That's why I ask people to define what they mean before I go making assumptions. haha

I see.

I'm not thin at all; I am just VERY small boned. Tiny bones.

I HAVE curves; I work out with weights and drink protein drinks. I can't help the fact that my BONES are small. Some people are built BIG BONED and some SMALL. I actually have a LOT of meat on my bones.

You drink protein and have curves...and I presume some muscle...but weight less than 100 pounds? Even at your height you should at least be 100 if youre a gym girl. Then again everyone's different. Its just usually girls I meet who are that short and weigh that little are usually very thin.

However I weigh about 185 and am still trying to gain weight and I outweigh or weigh the same as some guys who are 6'0 to 6'2. Doesnt make sense to me, even though Im slim.

I'm Asian; petite tiny Asian girls seem to be very much in demand in L.A where I live. I have no problems attracting any men.

Lots of very attractive Persian chicks in LA too. I went there once to visit, a big part of me wanted to move there for that very reason. haha

I didnt say you had a problem attracting guys. Doesnt mean youre their ideal though. Same way Im not most girls ideal. I was simply telling you what I hear most big guys talk about when it comes to their ideal woman.

Never mind the fact that a lot of dudes have yellow fever. Being a rarity (less than 5% of the population) def helps. My friend in the military used to clean up when he went abroad. Chicks loved him in Japan and Germany.

I agree it seems as if only the less fortunate looking people are usually screaming how the world is shallow and how looks dont matter to them because they dont have the resources to acquire one

Truth is all things beign equal all of us would rather an attractive person but there are some people who cant land a good looking person so they convince themselves looks arent important to psyche thrmselves up otherwise its a daunting task to realize the person youre with his ehh physically

Plus the ugly truth is that some people only approach men or women they think they acn get a yes from not people they are insanely attracted to and a lot of these people are now married and sexless

I figure im gonna have to put up with some level of crap from women during a relationship anyway i might as well be able to stand looking at her while shes annoying rather then think t omyself why am i putting up with shyt from a women whos barely attractive

185 and 5 foot 9? That's some serious density .

I'm 6 foot 3 & 210 lbs, I don't think I'm too interested in gaining any more weight, I'm perfectly fine at my current weight, only I need to seriously tone up.

I've seen girls with my size and height end up with male models and actors here in L.A (guys that most people would deem a 10)

In L.A there are actually a lot of Asians. So we are not less than 5 percent of the population here. But whetevers.

I don't care for the population of the U.S; only the area where I live.

Still, yellow fever happens because you are a minority. Same way some girls get all freaky about black guys. Simple really. And being a rarity in the media influences this as well. Ten bucks say Asian men started getting more play from women since Jeremy Lin started blowing up in the NBA. Only Asian American baller out there, but very good tho.

Just because certain chicks end up with a few guys, doesnt mean he wouldnt want her to be a little taller, curvier, or bustier. Ive seen certain hot girls date a type of guy, but I still wouldnt say those chicks are the ideal most men want.

Again, Im simply telling you what most gym guys Ive talked to have said. They prefer model chicks the same way you are attracted to model looking guys. It doesnt mean they wont date other types of attractive women though. I prefer a certain type of gal, but I will budge a bit on my preferences. Not drastically though.

Or you could flip that argument and consider maybe it's the people with the less fortunate personalities who are usually screaming that looks are all that matter.

I'm only joking by the way. I think there's lots of room to maneuver either way. I don't think one needs to choose between looks or personality.

Your gym guys aren't the equivalent of L.A model guys because the guys here aren't that BIG. It's not about being BIG. That's a meathead thing; most good looking guys here (models etc) are not necessarily BIG.

Who said I was a meat head? The guys I talk to are all about aesthetics. They arent meat heads and neight am I. Im a slim 5'9 185 lbs.

The guys Im talking about are 90s CK ad Mark Walberg types. So they are hardly meatheads. Plenty of guys who hit the gym arent meat heads. Im from NYC metro area btw....models here look hardly any different from LA.

I actually aim for a swimmers body myself. Slim but toned with a decent amount of lean muscle.

Why are you taking this so personally? I dont get bent out of shape that Im not most girls ideals. I accept that fact and enjoy the fact that women are attracted to me anyways. Man, you seem so defensive simply because I said you were a bit small for my tastes and some guys I know.

Doesnt mean we wouldnt find you attractive...it simply means we have other preferences...not that we are rejecting you. A lot of chicks have a preference for guys over 6 feet tall. But Im 5'9 and do just fine. Maybe its cus Im sexay? lolz jk :D

The male models that I am referring too with hot bodies are not that dense or big. In L.A it's more like 6ft tall and 170 lbs. One is 5'8 and weights 145 lbs...

Male models here in L.A are NOT meat heads; it's not about being BIG. They aren't BIG. Most model type guys here are slim but muscled, not BIG but muscled.

I never said it was about being big. I just happen to be big by default .

I agree with the bolded part.

I think the media projects a very narrow view of what is "empirically attractive", but in reality the media's view usually is not what is best for the individual. As a result of being influenced by the media, many people appear to be conflicted. It's as if what they think they want and what would fit them best are in conflict.

Although the media wants us to believe we should want what is "empirically attractive", in reality people are attracted to potential partners who have similar physical and personality characteristics as that of their own oppposite sex parent. BTW, models in general are not big. Its not just LA. Models are sposed to be slim but have a decent amount of lean muscle mass.

Shows you how different body types are (and why BMI is stupid). At 185 and 5'10'' I'm rail thin, but I'm muscular and broad shouldered. Right now I'm 200lbs and out of shape as hell.

"Adamant"?

I'm not sure. It's sort of like asking if I'm adamant about the kind of food I find tasty. It's not exactly like it's something one controls with will power. Sometimes when you fall for someone the things you thought you found attractive and unattractive go out the window. Like saying you hate mustard but then realizing you love crab cake.

For the longest time I was attracted to skinny Asian guys. I'm getting married to an average build (somewhat muscular) white guy. I couldn't be happier . Who would've guessed?

I'm not sure how true that is though I understand it does have an an affect. I have dark features and I find that blond guys seem to be more attracted to me than brunette guys. You also see often how black and asian men chase after white women who look nothing like their mothers.

5'9 185lbs is kind of meathead; it's too big in my opinion. Model guys here weigh less than that even if they are taller.

Lmao...I have dense bones...Im pretty thin...Im FAR from a meat head.

Thats what I told you before. I tend to weigh a lot more than guys my height.

Look at my build....how am I ANYTHING CLOSE to a meathead? :lmao:
