Old Flame Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 (edited) Back in 1980 I went looking for a new cologne. I like to smell good and keep my breath fresh. I chew doublemint gum for my breath, but finding a good cologne took some effort. My ex wife used to wear "Sweet Honesty" by Avon. THAT was what attracted me to her in the first place. She walked past me and smelled like an angel. To this day, after 20 years apart, I kow that smell. I love it when i smell it on a girl. When i went cologne shopping, I wanted to find something that would make people notice. It had to be great. After a few days, I found my cologne. In the 20 years that i have been wearing Jovan aftershave/cologne , I would say that barely a day goes by when girls don't stop me and ask me what I'm wearing. If i go out to a club, at least 10 women will ask me what I'm wearing. It is a great conversation starter. Its important to get the BLEND aftershave/cologne, and not just the afterhshave or cologne. I never tell girls what it is that I'm wearing, I just tell them that it is my own blend. I don't want them getting it for their boyfriends and having all these dudes smelling like me. Every day, other men also ask me what I'm wearing. I never tell. I had a guy ask me what i was wearing the other day at the dept. of motor vehicles. He said he wanted to get some because he thought it would make a good first impression on women. I told him what it was and he got some. I saw him at a downtown club in Rapid City on saturday night. He said at least 3 women came up to him and asked him what he was wearing. Later, i saw him walking out the door with a real cute babe. He stopped when he saw me and came over and said "Thanks for the tip on the cologne, I met this girl when she asked me what i was wearing." Funny how a relationship can happen just from a smell. The cologne is called "Jovan sex appeal aftershave/cologne". It has a guarantee right on the bottle that says women are drawn to it. My ex told a mutual friend a few years after we broke up that she keeps my pillow case in her closet and takes it out and smells it sometimes when she misses me. I imagine the smell wore off by now. Crusoe Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 (edited) Funny how a relationship can happen just from a smell. Absoutely. I often walk to the local shop via the park. Occasionally I see a neighbour walking her dog and we walk together. Her dog is quite a handsome little chappy but has never had any luck with the bitches. He has tried many things, worked on his posture, made sure he is well groomed, tried to grow a new pair of balls, but to no avail. Anyway, one day he got the idea of trying a new scent. He did a lot of experimentation with various roadkill. Dead mole, squashed frog, even a still twitching cat, but all with no luck. Last week we took a different route through a field on our way to the park. In that field he saw a big steaming turd and jumped straight in. Squirming about with legs in the air, he reminded me of Baloo the Bear having a good scratch. A few minutes later we were in the park and this foxy little bitch approached him. She cast him a bashful look and said "Oh my, you smell divine. Tell me, what scent are you wearing" He puffed out his chest and replied, "Bullsh*t lil' lady, pure genuine bullsh*t" And she went weak at the knees.... Edited February 22, 2012 by Crusoe 1
phineas Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Black - every brand has that scent. Women LOVE it. And they get closer to get a better whiff because I only use one spritz. IronMan -stronger smell which means women don't need to be right up on me to smell it but I still get told I smell good. Also have matching aftershave. Jet Homme - gift from mom. kind of citrisy have not worn it out yet.

Jane2011 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Last guy I was with wore a cologne called BOD, and I absolutely loved it.
Dorie Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 My SO wears Jean Paul Gaultier (can't remember name but blue body shaped like a torso). Heavenly! 1
Emilia Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 My own scent. It's my favourite and men seem to enjoy it
LZ2000 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I'm not really a fragrance kind of guy, so i kind of prefer the natural bodily scent women have. Women wearing the occasional perfume is perfectly ok with me, maybe i'd even love it.
Arkaeology Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Have you guys noticed that everyone has a specific smell to them? I'm not talking about body odor or perfume/cologne but a distinct smell specific to that individual. I've noticed this from all my previous ex girlfriends. My brain would just tell me "Yep, that's your girlfriend right there" just based on the smell. It's a smell of comfort and familiarity and it get's me in a positive mood. Although when they have on perfume that I really like, I can't get enough of that person! She will definitely receive an abundance of kisses and petting! Well maybe because I'm naturally just like that...
Star Gazer Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 My SO wears Jean Paul Gaultier (can't remember name but blue body shaped like a torso). Heavenly! That is my panty-dropping scent. It's like kryptonite to me... 1
tman666 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Whitey-tighties, a tutu, and a giant, over sized sombrero.

It's like kryptonite to me... Does cologne really have that affect on women. Honestly, I never wear cologne because it just seems like a waste of money. The Jean Paul Gaultier, Le Male is about $40 for a 2.5 oz...
Jane2011 Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Does cologne really have that affect on women. Some women hate cologne, but some of us love it. And yes, if a woman likes your cologne, it can drive her crazy. There have been guys who I almost wanted to kiss -- or at least cuddle with -- just because they smelled good (and I didn't even think they themselves were all that attractive). That's just me, though...
FitChick Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I have a keen sense of smell so what someone wears or doesn't can make or break a date. I can become sick to my stomach at some scents. I dated one guy who, fresh from the shower, still had BO.
Quiet Storm Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Yes. My husband was wearing Calvin Klein Obsession for Men when we met in 1991. One whiff still gets me wet. I can smell it a mile away.
tigressA Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 I am wild for Armani Code. That is my favorite on a guy. I have my signature scent; I don't wear it every day but when I do it nets me a good amount of compliments. I Love Love by Moschino. The name fits me really well, too.

It's like kryptonite to me... I know that scents! There are two torsos, male and female; both smells good. The bottle designs are NICE! I think it is Le Male. It is a quality cologne because of the ingredients that Jean Paul Gaultier uses. I normally wear Emporio Armani. Many women don't know the scent; they know, Acqua di gio, Code, and something else that was available in Italy. I heard Cool Water by Davidoff is popular.

I smelled "I Love Love" on my friend's wife and I was like whoa! It was when it was available in Europe. I remember meeting my friend (future wife of my friend) and said her parfum is not from the States. I think it was Naf Naf.

jerbear Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Whoa in a good way or whoa in a bad way?! I would say she does not need "I Love Love". Whoa in a good way, she is a looker even now; she aged well.
