Do you know why my boyfriend is not being himself around me?

He is around his friends, its like he can just let loose and says whatever he wants. But when hes with me, he holds back. I really dont like how hes not comfortable to say whatever he wants. I mean he can be with his friend,but not me. I told him why? he said hes afraid if he says it, i will find him creepy. But hes fine. I just wish he would stop being shy around me and just talks to me like he would to his best friend who is apparently a girl.
