Author stareyes Posted June 5, 2004 Author Posted June 5, 2004 how does this happen? love is supposed to be forever. i just dont see how one can stop loving someone after years.
whatshouldido Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 its no doubt that after years, there was love ...but maybe they were in love with an idea...or just not "in" love.. i actually think i have fallen out of love after 4 years. but i still love the guy i am with more than anything, and i will always care for him. but i think that there is somebody else out there for me other than him..
moimeme Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 I've never believed that one can fall out of love all of a sudden. Either you were floating around in some infatuation bubble that finally burst or else love vanished the way it appears, gradually, bit by bit until suddenly you realize it's gone. I seriously doubt that people ever wake up one day and think 'gee - I don't love X anymore'. It had to be preceded by months or years of simmering dissatisfacton and problems never dealt with until they all pile up into one big heap of misery and somebody bails. Either that, or the oxytocin-fuelled blindness still has them befuddled when they marry and they only get clearheaded after the vows.
UCFKevin Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 Love fades. Interest is lost. Passion dies, loyalty disappears. It's a fact of life, it happens. It's not like people WANT it to happen or MAKE it happen, it just does. Nothing anyone can do about it.
