dmoore Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 OK, this probably won't sound good but I need some advice. I set a date w/ a girl for Sat. night. I've only met up w/ her once before and thought she was cool and would like to hang out again... but a party has come up in my area and I'd rather go there for this particular night. Any advice on how to break a date the night/day before the date? Is this putting a nail in the coffin w/ this girl?

But , that is just my opinion. Invite her along, or to be at the party for an hour or two then meet up with her elsewhere.

Just let her know that something came up and you'd like to see her a different night instead. If she's interested, she'll be flexible. Tell her that you'll make it up to her by taking her out to a nice dinner and then do it. People understand when things come up. Just make sure your excuse sounds good. Good luck! Shasta Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 I'm laid back as well, but if someone told me they couldn't make it because there was a family emergency or something, and then showed up where I was(not knowing I would be there mind you) I wouldn't give him a second look. Make sure your excuse is well thought up.
JustSoRight Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 If you're gonna break a date shouldn't you be honest. He should have said "Hey I want to go to this party, and I'll just take you out tommorrow." Then she'd know what she got ditched for. I wonder if he took her or if he cancelled?
