For the ladies: how much does a suitor's crazy family affect you being serious with h

Hi I'm new and appreciate any comments...

If you started to date someone, and generally thought he was quite a catch (tall, well built, handsome, financially secure, loyal, funny, sporty, kind etc etc- yes I'm describing me haha!) BUT then you found out his family background was about as sketchy as can be (abusive alcoholic pa, religious kook mum, schizophrenic sister) how would you feel towards a LTR? Would you worry these traits would affect your future babies together for instance. I feel I've got my act together, but can't help think I'm judged by my background...

I'm not dating his family, I'm dating him. If he's normal, I'd be fine with it. I'd just probably want to limit my contact with his family if they were all a bunch of crazies:)

My family isn't that great, but I'm awesome, so I would love to find my male counterpart.

 

I would only be leery if the crazy family were very involved in his life and he was not independent of their control. Crazy but faraway family isn't a problem, as long as he doesn't let them interfere in his life.

I agree. I've had problems with a man's "normal" family interfering so the crazy part isn't the problem just the interference.

hey thx! I'm glad I asked and am happy to say my crazy family is close to me but not close by and not controlling for sure...so ur replies are helpful:)
