Im a 42 old male who has been married for16 years. I have two children who are my life.

last year my wife and i breifly separated due to arguing, stress, all the normal things. After 6 months of me living in a rented house, my wife and i gave it another try.

Now six months later we have the same problems.

My wife drinks beer daily, she has an addiction to beer, i dont ever see her sober, shes emotionally abusive to me, when i was living separatly i missed my kids everyday i was not with them, i could not fuction without them.she knows this and uses it as a weapon to shut me down.i really hate to try to get her arrested for drunk driving, or stoop to taking secret film of her drinking habits.she has put me on the offensive.I wanted to do counsling but she wont, I wanted to do a intervention but she would loose her job. Any advice would help.

Speak to a lawyer about the children and bring proof to the courts that she is a constant drinker. Do this without her knowledge and you will have some leverage in custody of your children.

The alcohol problem needs to be addressed before you can ever work on the relationship problem.

Sometimes people need to hit bottom before they get help & maybe losing her job is what it will take.

Do this. I wouldn't hesitate. Especially if she is driving your kids around, intoxicated.

Perhpas the relationship problem is what is causing the alcohol problem.

H0..do not do this unless you want to pay for it. It would be like cutting off your nose to spite your face and it is very expensive. Instead, how about calling the police for child endangerment when she is supposed to be caring for the kids and she is drunk?
