SJC2008 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Had a date Sat, went well and I like her. She seems inerested, I guess I'll find out tonight when I call her. It's obviously early on but I think a happy v day text with a pic of a rose would be sweet. That being said I don't want to seem overzealous and scare her off. I've never had a date right before v day so opinions are appreciated.
Author SJC2008 Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 We have only had one date so I was either going to let it alone or at the most send a text. It's just really awkward for me, we just met. I'd feel uncomfortable about asking her out and buying her flowers for a 2nd date. What do you suggest.

Pretty sure if you make it way too romantic on V-day for a girl you barely know, you'd likely scare her off. I honestly wouldn't know what to do your situation. I would have avoided going out with her so close to V-day. Would have probably asked out a few days AFTER it, for the first date. Now you're thinking if it is too clingy of you to say anything, or is expected? Is SHE expecting it? What if she is upset I do nothing about it? Etc. etc. I always think 2 moves ahead. I would have never planned a date so soon to V-day. It's so easy to screw this **** up.
xisnotx Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 (edited) I've been in this situation twice now..the first time I ignored it. That didn't go well. This time I'm thinking a flower..taped to her door. She'll know it was me, but it's not going all out. More like.."I thought of you on v day, and this proves it." Or maybe a walk to the park...no gift. Or maybe something else...I'll think pf something. I have at least 24 hours lol yay or nay on the flower? or the walk? its awkward, yes..but at least it's fun. If she doesn't like it, maybe she requires too much?! (Make it a red rose, though. I know it's the cheesy flower but the statement is simple, so needs to be clear. ) Good luck!
phineas Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Been talking to a woman from match. was going to meet sat but weather was crappy. I'm just going to leave it alone & not mention it. honestly, we havn't met & V-day first date? Kinda lame. real lame actually. I'll probably hit the townie bar for $2 bottles with the other singles. LOL!
Author SJC2008 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Well I can't leave anything by her door as I don't know where she lives. She seems very down to earth and I don't think she'd be quick to give me the "clingy" label but like I said I don't want to do anything over the top.
Author SJC2008 Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Well the good news is that she's interested in going out again! There were a few awkward silences on the phone, I tried to keep it going but at one point when I was talking I was thinking to my self "I wonder if she knows that this is filler" lol! I'll probably send her a text along the lines of I'm looking forward to our next date, happy v day. Edited February 14, 2012 by SJC2008 submitted too fast.

LOL! A first date on Vday sounds crazy awkward. I'd avoid it at ALL costs if I was asked on one, lol. Well the good news is that she's interested in going out again! I'd avoid it at ALL costs if I was asked on one, lol. lol - I actually have a first date tomorrow night. Going out with a guy I met on OkCupid. I'm the one who suggested tomorrow night, but I did it (made the date on Sunday) without even remembering that Tuesday was Valentine's Day. It was just my most free night this week. It's also very casual. Meeting up for coffee and conversation. I don't think he cares. And I'm just going through the motions. I doubt I'm even gonna like the guy.

Laying low. Besides when I was younger I wound up being that guy used on V-day by someone who just didn't want to admit to their friends she didn't have a date then she forgot about me afterword. LOL! Yeah, no first v-day dates after that & in fact no V-day anything unless you are already an established GF is my rule.
