El Brujo Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 My favorite female name---ideally for a gf or wife---is Linda, easy. Unfortunately there are an awful lot of ugly Lindas in this world... My least favorite female names are anything that starts with B, H, T, or W... damned if I know why...
quankanne Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Julian/Juliana ~ with Spanish pronunciation; both are family names I can wrap my brain around an odd-sounding name, but certain spellings of more common names drive me absolutely nuts!
Jane2011 Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Favorite male names (in general): Alex, Anthony, James, Brandon, Chris (despite being so conventional) Male names I'd want to date: Adam, Roger, Robert Of course, I like a lot of weird names too. Last guy I dated had a weird name. I like names like Mehki (as in Mekhi Pfieffer - sp?) and just other "weird" ones. Long ago, I knew this guy named Kfir (pronounced "Fear") - loved it. I'm pretty sure I'd name my kids weird names. I like these girl names: Claire, Lila, Reese... Incidentally, my real name is Jane. I've thought about changing my screen name because I'm not exactly incognito here.
ThaWholigan Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Every girl I meet named Melissa is good looking in some way. Same with Lisa. Generally though, I don't really have a favorite name for a woman. I suppose it will be my future wife's name. As for guy names, I like my own name: Zion
Krios Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Natalie, Iris, Emma, Elise, Mila, Anna, Amelie, Nina, Sarah.
Tybalt Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I like somewhat unusual names... Tristan, Sebastian, Phineas (yes, I know there's a Phineas here.)
Star Gazer Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I like somewhat unusual names... Tristan Reminds me of Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall...
Eclypse Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 For me I like the names Emma and Rebecca the most. I also know a few hot Sarah's. Although I don't know any, I like the name Natasha a lot. My girlfriend is none of those, but it doesn't really matter. For guys I kind of wish my name had been Rafael. Oh well, there's always court changed names.
ditzchic Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Something about the name Ryan always peaks my interest. And Evan. I stay away from the name Mike because I've dated way too many of them (5 so far) and recently Jeff. I've been out with 3 Jeffs in the last 2 months. It gets too confusing. lol.
ScreamingTrees Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Male names I'd want to date: Adam, Roger, Robert Huh. And I thought my name was dorky and lame. (Suits me perfectly!) (HINT: I'm not an Adam.)
Jane2011 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Huh. And I thought my name was dorky and lame. (Suits me perfectly!) (HINT: I'm not an Adam.) So which are you? Roger? Robert? Those names are so awesome to me. Incidentally, I never get boyfriends whose names I like. I like the guys themselves, but never their names. One guy I dated was named Jerry. Hate that name. He was hot, though.
reptilelover88 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 It depends massively on whether we're talking about names for boyfriends or potential future baby names. With boyfriends I wouldn't like anything too old-fashioned and stuffy (Bob, Bill, Jeff, Kevin, Keith etc all spring to mind!). I'd prefer a classic, timeless, and well-known name so that it feels natural to say and think it. Having said that, I've dated too many guys called Tom and Chris, and my dad's name is Alex, so any of those feel a bit weird. I think I could get used to any guy's name in time though if I were in love with him. As for future baby names, I like them a bit weirder... Nathaniel, Theodore, Lysander, etc. (not to everybody's taste, I know!). But not for a long time yet.
Carlos S Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Is it my imagination or are Graces prettier than average?
skieran Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I always think what names I would love to give my children (when and if I have any!) For girls I like Abigail, Madeleine/Madeline, Erika, Holly and Melissa. I have a strong love for the name Sally as it's the name of a fave actress of mine. Elis is a good name for a boy I think. That's all I can of for boys right now:laugh:
