I've never had a date on valentine's day and i've known this girl for nearly a month now, and nothing is official and nothing has been rushed and i was thinking of using Valentine's day to take the next step. I also think she's waiting for me to take the next step. She works all week (including valentines day) so she doesn't have any time for me to take her out anywhere. She does an internship during the day, and works at a restauraunt at night. I was thinking of having flowers delivered to her work, she works with a bunch of woman so i think it would make her the center of attention for the night. Any advice, ideas, input? types of flowers, and price range? for a girl i've known for 1 month?

Thanks

Simply ask her out for that day after work. Then you put the moves on her; don't worry, she'll be delighted if she's into you.

Red roses are too expensive and common, in my opinion. To keep with the Valentine's Day color scheme, ask the florist for a mixed arrangement of all sorts of other types of red flowers and maybe even red foliage to make it a bit exotic.

She would love that if she's into you.

Do a bouquet of red, pink and white roses. It'll probably cost you around $50. Order from a local florist ...flowers from 1-800-flowers or whatever that is are delivered in a box, so it's not quite as nice.

Flowers I think is too much for someone you JUST met. Get her something small and cute.

Last year at my school the Japanese club was selling these little thin cardboard valentines cards to raise money for the tsunami relief. They were a little bigger than a credit card and folded in half. They had little writings inside, and cute little drawings inside as well.

They cost a quarter each and the one I got said "I like you but im not in like with you" And there was a heart with a sad face over the message.

Id say do something small and cute in the vein of that. And then add in some sort of heart shaped chocolate. Simple and problem solved. I did this for several chicks I know and they all thought it was cute as hell.

I agree with this. Roses and bouquets is too much at this point --she isn't your gf yet. personally it would freak me out a little bit if I was her and you sent roses to my work after we'd barely been dating a month, I'd go with something small and cutesy. Give her candy hearts and a big chocolate next time you see her or something.

Sending any kind of flowers or roses is way too much, since you are just flirting each other . .

Be sure she would be really happy if you surprise her in any way on Valentine's Day.

Perhaps, you could act in confident manner and say: "Hey, it's Valentine's Day, and we are both "alone",

why don't we go out tonight? We might be lucky meeting our soulmates . . so dinner at [ .... ], I'll pick you up at 8"

AND shut the f*ck up!

First person speaks loses . . .

Good luck & no roses at all! Perhaps some candies & a chocolate . .

*no matter if she accepts or no, you win!

I misunderstood. I thought they had been dating. Maybe go the less romantic but cute route -- a gigantic heart shaped cookie (maybe the bakery would write something on it) or a gourmet cupcake with a Valentine's Day motif.

Google rose colours and their meaning, you may find something more suitable. For instance, one girl who means a lot to me, but will only ever be a friend, I sent her a pink rose - it's a symbol of a true friendship, someone that means more to you than you can say. In her own words, it was her best V day ever.

Keep it simple, inexpensive, and most of all, make it thoughtful. Make her a card out of magazine clippings that may include an inside joke or two and tie a single rose to it. She will appreciate something you put thought into much more than if you spend a bunch of money on expensive flowers.

Hi gjpax1,

Any act that shows you've done something for her will show you care. Flowers are always good and making a girl feel the centre of attention will be a nice gesture. I agree with the comments suggesting a mixed range of flowers. But colour co-ordination can help. Perhaps check up a colour wheel chart and see what colours pair up - mix and match a couple of pairs and if you visit a real florist rather than online, they'll be able to assist you in combinations and styles. You could always leave a card with the flowers too leaving a message etc

Hope this helps!
