Men have pressures but it is different than women. If a man fits outside of what it is considered masculine then he gets it from both men and women.

For the record Megan Fox does not do that much for me but obvious plastic surgery is a turn off. Adriene Lima and Mila Kunis on the other hand are gorgeous.

I also play a little devild advocte here. I mean there are simply lots of beautiful people in the world. maybe they shouldn't be portrayed as the ideal, and unfortunately people are buying into it. However, what are you going to do? they exist. they are real. Should we hide them away?

Still, the women will disagree, but I actually think women may be more influenced. they ARE the one's who throw their bras on stage, become groupies etc., They seem to idolize and fantasize more.

Men? they may drool, but move on and appreciate what they have. I mean all us guys saw the superbowl where our Giants beat the other pretty boy. We saw the commercial with Adrana Lima, and I think you would be gay if it did nothing for you. However, I feel nothing for her after that. I have no need to find her on TV, no need to see a movie if she's in it, and I don't imagine myself with her- believe it or not.

Off topic now, but why the hell would they put Adriana Lima in a commercial aimed at men about Valentines day for their SO's ?

LOL That must be me!
:lmao: First, it was a joke about moving. Second, Megan Fox is being currently presented as the ideal. Where is Megan Fox's "brother" for us to see (if she has one)? That is what I keep asking in this thread. Very few celeb men do it for me (and in porn, none at all - unless they're good-looking gay men in gay sites).

That's my point. SO, you don't object to having unrealistic perceptions presented...as long as they have men too? or not?

I think there are tons of guys being shoved down our throats, all with the full lust of our women:D:(. Don't think we hear all the women code sentences for " I would so bang him"? just because he breathes the same air as us.

It goes both ways. Sorry, you have a tough time finding these obvious guys. You must have rediculously high standards.

I bet most women didn't look away when they showed the David Beckham commercial. Also there is a huge picture of him in New York on the side of a skyscraper.

Woggle, does it bother you if your wife appreciates a poster of David Beckham?

Exactly! I forgot about that. And I can only imagine what they say. I 've heard some pretty lustful things...mostly from married women.:D

No. I sure appreciated that Adriana Lima ad.

The buying into stupid ideals was the part that always got me. Not that beautiful people existed. I am sure celebrities feel the pressure to maintain the fantasy they sell.

Still, the women will disagree, but I actually think women may be more influenced. they ARE the one's who throw their bras on stage, become groupies etc., They seem to idolize and fantasize more.

And there are men, a lot of sport players that are married or have girlfriends or are single and sleep with said groupies. That works both ways.

I guess I don't see how men appreciate what they have when they do regularly seek out other visuals of other women that allude to a bigger and brighter fantasy then what they think they have with their own woman. There are entire restaurants for men dedicated to visuals (Hooters). You'll find men from 7 to 60+ in such places but most of the women will probably be 18-25. I think we can safely agree there are many more strip clubs for men then there are for women. Again, most of the women that strip are probably 18-30. To me, that doesn't really say to me that men appreciate what they have.

And I am not faulting you for responding to a commerical with Adrianna Lima. But most women want to be their guys fantasy. They want to see his eyes light up for her. And often, they see their eyes light up for all these other beautiful spectacular women. Adrianna Lima doesn't give a crap about the average guy. Your girlfriend does care about you.

Yeah...that was the same thought that went through my head too when I saw it lol. Is it so men think about spending valentines day with Adriana instead and get so inspiried they buy flowers for their woman? Geez. I don't know.

I do not find David Beckham attractive actually. Sure, I can recongnize on an ojective level that he has the charactertics of what is socially deemed attractive. But A sexy commercial of him has no affect on me.

I think it's been well established that you are not the person to speak for "most women" about fantasies.

Do you wish your wife looked more like her?

Who are you more attracted to--her or your wife?

That is so true. Practice some self control (repression) now.

Oh I object to unrealistic objections, full stop. But since I don't see the unrealistic views on women ending any time soon, it's a case of "if you can't beat them, join them".

Well, the last part is true for me unfortunately. I do have very high standards in both looks and personality. Can't say if they're ridiculously high though. (Well, okay, okay... they are. LOL Sometimes I even wish imaginary video-game characters were real. :p I think I've mentioned it before: Altair from Assassin's Creed! lol )

Of course my wife but she still looks damn good.

Many women do though and and just like Adrianna Lima doesn't care about the average man David Beckham is not interested in the average woman. We all fantasize about unattainable celebrities. Both of them are married anyway though sadly that doesn't count for much.

that's exactly it. thats why its not worth it to give "100%" in a relationship - men don't appreciate it "100%" anyways.

Men want to see the same thing from women but how often do we get it. I bet every attractive famous man has tons of stories of married women throwing themselves at them. Why do people act like men somehow have a monopoly on this behavior?

Not true. And that statement can go both ways Nancy

Why have the "bitter" women come on here and changed this thread into talking about celebrities and beauty? I thought it was men answering about their woman seeing porn

Attetion Insecure women posting in this thread. (not all)

Men and women are DIFFERENT. Stop trying to tell men that they should be attracted to women in the same way that women are attracted to men. It doesn't work. Men are men. Instead of bashing men on the head with your insecurities, why don't you try something else. How about you try and put yourselves in mens shoes and try to truly understand men, and the differences between men and women. Accept these differences. Things will never change because men and women are born with these differences. If you ever get into an LTR with a man and you stay the same way you are now, he will feel like he needs to hide part of himself from you.

You know what men love? When I say men I mean the type of men that most women love: secure, confident, kind, caring, strong, fearless, loving.

Men like that LOVE women that try to understand them instead of telling them how horrible they are for being men.

I've spent years trying to understand women and see things through their point of view. My gf has done the same with men. She truly understands men now. She doesn't always like it, but she understands that men and women of wired differently and she doesn't try and shame me...and I LOVE her for that.

- Not all women bash men. Most don't. I personally don't bash men and I would never want to. I do bash the male-oriented porn industry though that often drives men's preferences (rather than the other way round).

- Not all women who don't like porn or more specifically, degrading porn are insecure. This is a very common word used to attack women who simply don't like it.

- Many times these differences are due to social conditioning and not just genes only. (Example: pink used to be associated with boys in the past, black eyeliner with warriors etc. Now it's "gay").

- Unfortunately there's no such manual yet (about either men or women) and how to understand them. Until then, it's easy to say we should understand each other but in practice few achieve it. Good for you and your girlfriend, as a result.

Not all women do but there are some on here that do and they sound bitter as hell. They use this attack on porn as a smoke screen to attack men. Numerous users have in some form pointed this out.
