Author goldengirl11 Posted March 8, 2012 Author Posted March 8, 2012 Firstly, I apologise for bringing this thread up again but I had a final related question I wanted to ask re reading people's profile info on dating sites/music forums, hence where I had met this man (who is slowly moving on now btw). It puzzles me how he said he had absolutely (in bold letters which can't do on my phone!) been telling the truth about his age and that he'd never put his birthdate up on the site. Yet I saw sometime last year on his profile that there was a birthdate (I can't remember the exact one it said), hence when it read he was 55 (not 51). Then this info disappeared! Has anyone else experienced reading apparent false info like this? Could it be spam or something? Thanks.
Eternal Sunshine Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Why do you even care? You aren't attracted to him, he is a sketchy, old loser (no it's not a spam, he lied but this is IRRELEVANT). I don't get why you are hanging onto this "situation". Don't you have any friends or hobbies?

Don't you have any friends or hobbies? Yes I do - have just come back from an I.T class (for example). Am just curious how accurate these on-line profiles usually are, hence am trying some on-line dating. That's all! Edited March 8, 2012 by goldengirl11

You made a profile, were you not asked to add your Bday? Likes/dislikes? etc... ?

Why do you still care?
LnliHrt Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 I am 32 and dated 50 year old woman....even though I liked her..something was missing, I thought in 10-15 years she might be dead or could not move around and I would have to take care of her, like as if for my old mother for the rest of her life and my best years.....I also thought...what if I meet a great girl my age....not fare to the older woman or me....so i did passive aggressive and she left me... 1

Yes I/We are asked to enter some of those details but can choose if they are for show or not. Likes/dislikes being optional of course. Thanks
FitChick Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Am just curious how accurate these on-line profiles usually are, hence am trying some on-line dating. Take everything with a grain of salt until you find out otherwise. The most important thing is that they and you have current photos, regardless of age, since you are attracted to the person in the photo. As for that guy, his age was the least of your worries. Sounds like he had other problems more relevant to not being good relationship material for you.
