Nope, not unless you have access to their accounts. If you're on someone's account you can see the profiles they visit most often by looking at who shows up at the top of their search results. I know it's not relevant to your situation, but others may find it useful. :)

That's incorrect. There is no way of telling how frequently your profile is being checked.

Of course it will not show any numbers. But lets say you type in a letter in the search box. Facebook will then order the results by the profiles you visit the most or are in contact with the most by their last name and first name. Try it. :)

Like I said, it doesn't apply to the OP's situation, but I can imagine that when you're in a relationship with someone you'd be disappointed if you didn't show up first in their search results.

all my friends are either in an alphabetical or random order on my FB page regardless of whose profile I view.

There are a few apps that claim to track this but FB's official statement is their BS. (ok, not those EXACT words) :)

Poodle is right.

It's not your friend list, but your search box. If you type something in there it'll default to whatever facebook thinks you're most likely to want to see, based on what you've looked at before.

Regardless, it's pretty useless because you have to be able to hack into someone's account to figure it out anyway.

As far as doing it from your own account, it's not possible. Facebook does not expose any functionality in their API which allows apps to collect this information. The closest you get - which the 'stalker' apps use - is data about who has interacted with your profile by 'liking' things, making comments, etc. As for actual views, FB is correct in saying the apps can't do that.

If you type the first letter of someone's name in the search box, the person under that letter who you've searched the most will be at the top of the list.

So if I checked out John's profile often and I typed in "J", his name will be at the top of the list.

I know this because it happens on my account all the time.

If you hacked their account. Otherwise how would you know?

Sometimes people forget to log out of social networking sites when they use their partner's computer..

I just want to clear up that I don't support this creepy stalkerish behavior in any way, but I'm sure there are people out there to whom this bit of info is useful. :o

You're all wrong. It's actually pretty easy. Just put up 50 billion, buy a majority share and have unlimited access to everyones stats and personal details.

All of the apps that I know of that claim to do this contain viruses, mostly in the form of trojans.

Who told you this? That's totally incorrect there in no way that's true and there is no way possible to know who checks your profile.

See for yourself. I'm done repeating myself. :)

When I first noticed it I asked a few friends and they all confirmed the profiles they visit or are in contact with the most often are at the top of their search results. I've also done a little experiment where I visited a user's profile very often for a few days and they ended up ranking 1 spot higher in the little search list. Again, I am not saying you can see who viewed YOUR profile. It only shows you the users YOU visit most often and I'm sure that some creepy people with access to their partner's account will find this bit of info useful.

You're just talking about the browser history/cookies, right?

An astute stalker would just wipe the history cache periodically. Problem taken care of. ;)
