They say that loves hurts, and it does, a lot! So why do we keep hoping and looking for it after we've been stung so many times? Pretty crazy really! I mean, you wouldn't keep putting your hand into a fire.

I think I've been well and truely put off (Once bitten twice as shy) Though its been more than once!

I think its safe to say that I'm damaged goods.

Because once you find that person who you are meant to be with, all the pain and crap it took to be there will be so worth it. My mom told me you will possibly get your heartbroken several times before you find "the one." I mean she said she dated so many jerks and got hurt several times, but each time she grew from the pain and finally she met and married my dad and they are still together and happy 19 years later. After being with many jerks, she found my dad who is the sweetest guy and caters to her everyday. Do not give up! Just keep moving forward and someone will soon walk into your life that will make you realize that it was a blessing that it didn't work out with anyone else :)

I guess this is true. I'm worried that I wont be able to open up to anyone in the future, I don't want to give anyone the power to hurt me again if that makes sense.

I know, and that is totally normal. Our hearts are such troopers, I mean they get beaten, broken, and shattered and they still pull through. You will be able to open up in the future because you are probably wiser than you were in this past relationship and will be a little more cautious and guard your heart a little more. When someone comes your way again, take things very slow. Do not rush and just gradually open your heart to the new person as you begin to establish and build new trust. You too will find your prince charming :) we just gotta kiss a bunch of toads so before we find him haha.

Love does hurt, that's why they call it "falling" in love. It is when a person opens themselves, expresses their vulnerabilities, and trusts that the other person reciprocates those same feelings. We as human beings love companionship at some point in our lives. Unfortunately most of us will be hurt many times over before we find someone we can truly connect and find a sense of compatibility with. However, how can we really find out what a great relationship is unless we've suffered a few "sour" experiences?

It's like learning to ride a bike. We begin by falling and getting scrapes and bruises a long the way, but we pick ourselves up and keep trying. Some of us may become guarded and wear helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, etc to protect us when we fall. Eventually we get the hang of it and find our sense of balance and just ride along. So too, is the journey of love I guess. Besides it's true what they say, isn't it truly better to have loved and lost then to have really never loved at all?

Anyway, GO GIANTS!!!!!!!
