Being nice is a trait of every nice guy. a positive trait. Any positive trait could be a selling point but the positives traits should outweigh the negatives. If a guy isn't normally nice and pretends to be nice, he's not nice and a liar which is two negative traits.

If a guy is confident, rich, hot, fun, athletic, smart and creative he's going to have quite a few options even if he isn't nice.

I believe the crux of the differences in our views is that you believe nice is a selling point, where I believe nice is not a selling point.

I'm sure your personal experiences tell you that yes, if you meet a woman, and she wasn't interested in you, you be nice to her, and that could somehow turn her around. That's not my experience. If a woman isn't interested in you, and you be nice to her, she will only platonically like you more, or she will use you.

I'm not going to make this absolute, I'm sure there are women out there that do respond to nice-ness with romantic feelings. But I believe that is extremely rare, and does not line up with my personal experience.

I can't invalidate your personal experience, just like you can't invalidate mine. So by all means, have your opinion, but I'm going to keep mine, which has proven to work for me, time and time again.

For the general public, as with anything you read on the internet, you have to put up your own mental filter. What does your personal experience tell you? If you just go be nice, and women want you, like soccerprp, then good for you. Stay with the be nice group, and enjoy your successes. But if not, then you might want to try something else. I've said what works for me, and again, "not nice" does not mean be a rude *******, there are plenty of grey areas to play in. But your mileage may vary.
