I am reading a book right now and in the book, they say that a woman's sense of smell increases when she is ovulating.

Ladies, would you agree or disagree with this?

I've never noticed anything during ovulation other than a twinge from the ovary. and an increase in libido and wetness.

I dont notice difference in smell, i do notice difference in what im attracted to

I remember my ex had a babyface and had boyish good looks but when i was ovualting he repusled me and i was attracted to more masculine men and wanted to jump their bones:D

I've never noticed an increase in smell in general during ovulation, but I have noticed an increased appreciation for "sex" smells during ovulation.

Sounds like it is a good thing he is your ex!

Same.

I was like a freakish bloodhound when I was pregnant, though.

Wow!!! That is freaking fascinating!

The book said the same thing. It says that women want it both ways.... They want a good provider type husband, generally characterized by a less masculine face. But during ovulation, these women crave the masculine guy that would never be loyal and never make a good father.

That is FASCINATING!!!!

Most women don't even know when they're ovulating, let alone notice a difference in smell, taste, attraction, or any other sense.

What a load of crap. Evolutionary psychology bullsh*t at its finest. First of all, how come masculine guys can't be loyal? Second of all, how does the shape of a man's face determine what kind of a provider he would be? Third of all, some women don't want to get married or have kids, so how do you explain their attraction to certain men?

And finally, how do you explain the millions of women who don't change their preferences from one week to the next? Because personally, I'm attracted to certain physical characteristics in men, and my preference never changes. I'm always attracted to my boyfriend, no matter where I am in my cycle. I never go through periods where I suddenly find myself attracted to a different type of guy. And I don't want kids either, so I don't give a rat's ass what kind of father a guy would be. As if you can tell just by looking at someone what kind of parent they'd be. Since when does a person's facial features determine their personality?

Cypress25,

You make some good points. I tend to believe everything I read.

This book wouldn't happen to be Why Women Have Sex: Understanding Sexual Motivations from Adventure to Revenge by Cindy Meston and David Buss would it?
