I think this quote suits me perfectly. I am about to move town yet AGAIN because of a new job. Due to the nature of my job (medical research) I will have to move 2-3 hours away by car to a new city (I live in the UK and usually I'm London-based or around it). Over the last 10 years that's what my life's been like: moving every 2 to 3 years. The new job's funding will last for 1 year. So, this is my problem. After 1 year I will have to apply for new funding/job that will possibly take me away again to another part of UK. It could even be Scotland or Ireland. Now how on earth am I going to establish a serious relationship in that period of time? I tried to change my field of work and start working in a hospital but I'd need one year's unpaid volunteer work just to get that license and state registration.

I can imagine my dates now. "Oh by the way, in about a year I'll have to move. Would you be so kind to quit you job and follow me wherever I go"? :lmao:

Is the only solution for me long distance relationships? I just want to settle in ONE place for the rest of my life! I feel like it's never going to happen unless a win the lottery or something...

Just look for a more permanent job unless you like moving all the time. Then just date some playboy who doesn't mind moving around...

I am looking for permanent jobs but they are really hard to come by.

Playboys are out of the question. lol I'd rather die alone.

I think the days of staying in one spot are almost over! I have just been thinking about this a few days ago. How is our generation going to have families if jobs never last(at least for college grads)?
