SouthernSunshine Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 My friend is having a BOY... i need help with baby shower gift ideas! Something affordable of course, and something i can get from tgt or wlmt. Everyone in my family (besides my brother) are girls, so I really have no clue!
setsenia Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 I usually ask if there's some sort of registry where I can order them a gift or when in doubt, shoot for something practical. In ex: baby bottles, blankets, facifiers etc. There's also gift cards.
turnera Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 I ALWAYS give books. And I'm usually the only one who does, sadly. And giving a baby boy some nice soft books or cloth books just may get him started on a love for reading (and learning, and college, and high-paying job, lol), for which his parents will be grateful! Sadly, I rarely see books in the homes of families with young children any more.
frozensprouts Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 books are a really nice idea, or something the mom can use for herself ( a nice set of bath items, a scented candle, etc. so that she can have a relaxing bath when she gets a few minutes to herself after the baby is born)
Tayla Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 The shower may have come and gone yet its always good to have ideas for future folks inquiring... 1: Baby proof items for when they toddle around and try to open cupboards and get near electrical outlets. They make covers and latches. (NOT expensive) 2: AN invite to attend a Red Cross Baby Safe class. You'd be amazed at some of the tips they give to aide on baby safety and overall first aide for them. 3: A Diaper Club. Yes some folks are going back to cloth diapers and often can use this service to pick up/drop off the diapers for laundered service. 4: Some of us Ladies got together and made a Coupon book. For two weeks we got online and nabbed coupons that would come in handy for the mother/child. Some had great savings and didnt expire too quickly. Saving money can be money well spent. We put the coupons in a Cute Quilted Baby book so that its a keep sake as well.
syke Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Look up diaper cake. If you have the time, and depending on how close you are to this friend, it would be a very thoughtful, helpful and cost effective gift. You can make the 'cake' with whatever you please i.e. rolled up onesies, diapers, wipes, bathroom products, creams, vaseline, penatin, coupon book etc =)
rickys Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Book is the best idea. I always used to gift a book...
