colliejoanie Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I've decided to take a break from dating until I get myself refocused on school and my daughter and myself. Relationships take soooo much work. Anyway, I'm so comfortable being alone. It doesn't scare me one bit.....I'm used to it by now, being a single mom. But there are times I miss having someone around...... It snowed today.....I would LOVE to make a huge meal for the guy I love. It's my thing. I love to cook. I'd make a big lasagna with homemade bread and a salad....and my heart would smile every time he took a bite because I know he LOVES it! My feet are sore from wearing heels all week. I'd love a foot massage.....and we all know where that would go. Football tomorrow. I'd love to be watching it with someone else who loved football as well. These are just a few things that would be nice if I had someone in my life. Again, I'm perfectly content on my own.....I'll make spaghetti instead of lasagna, and I have a foot pedicure hot water thingy instead of a man's hands, and I'll watch the game tomorrow while doing homework. Having someone (an adult) to share it all with would make it just a tick better!
Dust Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 You're a real catch. If I had a kid or you didn't I'd want to scoop you up. Man will come for you!

ditzchic Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 The time I miss a man most (besides times like these when it's 3am and I'm a little tipsy) is when I want to order a pizza. I live alone. I'm not gonna finish a whole pizza myself. And I wouldn't be able to eat it fast enough before it get icky in the fridge. Having a guy to help me out with pizza on the couch would be AMAZING!

Make yourself a bagel pizza with whatever spaggetti sauce and cheese you have laying around. Only make half if both halfs seems to much...

updown Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 i've been on my own/ living alone for two years now. i totally get where you are!!! i miss cooking for a man too. i love cooking. my kids don't really care for the more grown up dishes i would like to cook. so, i usually don't cook. it makes me sad. i make them there staple dishes, but i almost never try anything new or make a huge meal. i miss watching a man watch football too. him getting excited and riled up, gets me excited and riled up! i miss having someone that i can romantically hug and kiss, just because, in that moment, i want to. i miss having someone that can lift things that are too heavy for me. i miss sleeping next to someone. i'm very used to being alone too. i'm not scared by it. i do single, VERY well, LOL. it is, what it is. :-)
HeavenOrHell Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I wouldn't recommend it, unless you like OTT corny, horribly schmaltzy endings Yeah, well, we're out there.....regular women. Who don't hate or use men. As far as the Notebook goes.......I haven't even seen that freakin' movie!!!! Don't spoil it for me!! haha! Dust.....I hope you find someone deserving of you.

Psssst...the Notebook is a romantic thingy... I know I'm an *******. However I think what I miss most is not really those little things in general, I think it's the intensity and deeper emotions which really can make anything memorable. As an adult you might meet someone and make sexy time or enjoy their company, but what about being able to fullylove on someone and share things on that next level...and yet almost forget what it's like in the same breathe after not doing it for a while. Now that is something that I miss.
Els Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Hehe, you guys are hilarious. I'm a little more boring - when the SO's away, I miss the sex and cuddles and conversation and the 327623897632 things we do together, the most. I've never even gotten a foot massage, ever!
