I've noticed that I'm most attracted to certain type of look. I don't know why or where it originates from but everytime I see a girl who looks similar to Alison Brie, my heart just races 100 miles per hour, especially if she's dressed similar to the linked picture. I've only approached a few girls with that look and only had one date as a result but I would have to say if I could have it my way, that's the way my ideal girl would look like. Not saying that's what I only go for, just saying that that's what I'm most attracted to.

I'm interested to see whether anyone else has noticed they feel more attracted to particular look, and if so, post a picture and let us know how successful you've been with girls/guys with that look. :)

Alison Brie is definitely really close to my type except that she's shorter than I prefer at 5' 3". We're all attracted to similar gorgeous attributes, but our specific preferences usually are linked to someone we've crushed on in the past, so my best guess is that Alison Brie reminds you of one of your earliest crushes. My ideal is:

  • Very tall (I prefer height equality, 5' 10" or taller is ideal)
  • Long, dark hair
  • Thin with apple or hourglass figure

Zooey and Emily Deschanel, Sofia Vergara, Katy Perry, Jennifer Connelly, Jill Wagner, Emily Blunt, Uma Thurman, Kelly Brook, Anne Hathaway, Famke Janssen, Carrie Anne-Moss, Sean Young, Geena Davis all do it for me. Current girlfriend meets all of that as well (except she recently cut her hair short) and is taller than all those I just listed, I feel very lucky.

Indian/Middle Eastern looking women. On the thin side usually. Like Fatima Bhutto, or Shakira Baksh Caine (when she was young, although she still looks pretty good), or Ileana D'Cruz.

It's hard to date these types since a lot of them only date within their culture or not at all. But my current gf looks like a combination of Fatima Bhutto and Shakira Caine.

I usually get crushes on cute Asian girls, usually those who are not too gorgeous, more cute than hot.

That's an example of a girl I might have crushed on pretty big years past. Girls who dress a little hip, funky, and edgy are also cool.

As far as I can remember (and there's MANY years to remember) that's been my type.

I'll easily and readily go outside my type though. I've had emotional attachment to women who aren't my type and that DESTROYS any physical type or attraction.

The type that catches my eye will be short, blonde, and have good curves

This is pretty close to perfection (probably NSFW - you have been warned)

Just needs a little less makeup.

Yea, I love this as well. LOVE Goth dress. Abby on NCIS (Pauley Perrette) has fantastic style and is exactly my type as well, drives me insane and gets me yearning. Love tattoos, hers are great--particularly the spiderweb on the neck and the cross on her back--although most of the ones you see on her character on NCIS are painted on, Pauley's are much more subtle.

Oh god, glad I remembered I like tattoos...girlfriend's first anniversary is coming up, and she's been wanting another tattoo but couldn't afford it, buying that for her would be an AWESOME gift. Might give her one on me as well, been thinking about a Zen symbol somewhere.

Kate Beckinsale. Done.

But I will elaborate more tonight when I get a chance....

I've dated (and am currently dating) guys who fit into my broad-spectrum preference--those who are Indian. The one who was my 'ideal' in terms of looks was my ex. He was around 5'8", slim, gorgeous cheekbones, flawless skin that made me think of cinnamon. He was a 'pretty boy'.

My current BF is rather different from the pretty boy look but no less attractive for that. He has lots of hair , and is 5'5". While he's slim, he also has a bit of a stout look about him, particularly in his face sometimes (chubby cheeks!). I couldn't find a picture of someone who looks like him so I just put in a picture of us.

I'd love to say I have a type, but it seems I just really don't. Right now my type is my boyfriend! (I have a couple of pictures of us in my album).

My last boyfriend was 5'10 and stocky...kind of a teddy bear type...with thick, wavy blonde hair and a baby face. I was very attracted to him.

My current boyfriend is 6'4 and athletic but slim, very "grown up" looking with a beard and a bit of a receding hairline. I'm very attracted to him, too.

They're pretty much polar opposites of each other, and yet I was attracted to both of them.

As far as celebrities go, I've always been attracted to slightly more "mature" looking, slightly unconventionally handsome men. Jude Law and Daniel Craig are good examples. Of course I don't expect my mates to look like them, though.

I've also always found John Krasinski adorable. :]

Daniel Craig fits that description, but Jude Law is quite conventionally and youthfully attractive, not mature or rugged like Craig.

If you look at recent pictures of him he's aging rather visibly...I believe he's around 40 now (not that that's OLD). But I think he keeps getting better with age...

Bryant Park?!?

Agreed. Jude Law would pretty much be the picture under the dictionary definition of good looking and/or handsome.

I have two "types" of personality that get to me, and two physical types that turn my trigger.

Physically, I either like em tall and lean (swimmer's body or slimmer) or short and stocky. I LOVE brunettes and dark-haired guys. Glasses are an added bonus.

Personality wise, I love guys who are intellectual, chatty and goofy. If a guy has a quirky, goofy sense of humor, and can wax philosophical about the politics of BSG, I'm pretty much putty in his hands.

I do have a "bad boy" personality type I like... the bad boy's personality is essentially identical to the one mentioned above, but has an added edge of being extremely cocky and nettles me a little. Teasing, arguing, debating, etc. But, I usually have a love/hate crush going on with these guys, and I know I'd HATE dating them.

My biggest celebrity crush at the moment is Daniel Radcliffe. He's not only very cute, but a classy and goofy sort of guy. Ahhh, so smitten.

If you women keep listing short men as examples of being your ideal, I'm afraid a hyper-reality vortex will open up and swallow the forums whole, because I keep reading dozens upon dozens of posts pounding into me that this type of attraction simply isn't possible.

Thank you! And yes, Bryant Park. We love NYC  I want to live there someday.

He's definitely good looking and handsome. I guess when I think of the conventional "hotties" I think the young, buff pretty boys like Ryan Reynolds, Zac Efron, Taylor Lautner, etc. Even as a teenager I was never into the "heartthrob" types, and still am not.

In fact, I would take the quirky and cute John Krasinski over any of the above mentioned any day. :]

There are a couple of other things going on though:

1) All celebrities look much taller till you meet them

2) status & fame will drop panties regardless of height

This question actually stumps me... I really don't know. Looking back at my previous boyfriends and crushes though, I do notice some similarities:

1) At least 5" taller than me - though I'm 5'1", so that's fairly common.

2) 'Intelligent' features. I'm at a loss as to how to put this better, but I can usually tell from looking at someone. Is that weird?

3) Quiet in style and dress. No tight shirts, ripped jeans, mohawks, fussily-styled hair, trendy clothes and such. Simple, unassuming, but clean and neat clothes (well, all except one of them, and that did turn me off a bit).

4) Moderate-length hair (probably because Asian men tend to look pretty weird in crewcuts).

I usually get crushes on cute Asian girls, usually those who are not too gorgeous, more cute than hot.

Yuppers. Those cheap ugly NYC lawn chairs are spottable from a mile away.

I suspect you mean something more complex than "intelligent" and that intelligence is only a part of what you're getting at--or are you saying that Albert Einstein's wild appearance marks him as your type?
