Freddys Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Hey people, When a woman says: "I love you just the way you are", what really means? I don't think is that simple as it "sounds". Women's aspect please, hehe ; )
FitChick Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Are you a fat slob who looks like the dog dressed him? Do you have bad table manners? Do flies buzz around your head when you walk into a room? She's saying there is room for improvement.
Author Freddys Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Are you a fat slob who looks like the dog dressed him? Do you have bad table manners? Do flies buzz around your head when you walk into a room? She's saying there is room for improvement. Not at all! I'm a good looking guy, well dressed, smart & funny. But to answer your question's view, she said once (months ago) she prefers men with blond hair and I'm a totally brunet. But that was before she meets me
CarrieT Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 It means that she/he is normally attracted to somebody quite different, but for whatever reason she/he still likes you. I am like that with my current BF; he is no where what I am normally drawn to in looks or physicality. But as I have grown to know and love him, I love him the way he is (although I still wouldn't mind a little bigger dick! )
blueskyday Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Wouldn't we all, Carrie? Just kidding, guys. We love you the way you are. Whenever I have said the "I love you the way you are," to guys, I actually meant I thought they were perfect and that their imperfections were actually cute and rooted in some form of the positive anyway. Total acceptance. Now, if I said, "Even though you are a slob, I love you anyway," that's where I'm hinting at an improvement opportunity.
carhill Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 When a woman says: "I love you just the way you are", what really means? 'the kitchen could really use remodeling'
eleanorhurting Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 could it maybe mean that she really truly appreciates you for who you are? That is the kind of thing that I say when I realize i really care about someone even though they are not perfect.
ditzchic Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I once had a guy say to me "I think your flaws are gorgeous." Post coitus nonetheless. I don't think I ever felt more self conscious in my life. But I really think it was just his way of saying that he thought I was beautiful. In a really horrible way. I wouldn't chalk what she said up to anything more than her expressing her love for you. That's all that matters.
Author Freddys Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 It means that she/he is normally attracted to somebody quite different, but for whatever reason she/he still likes you. Yes, that "normally" means that her taste used to be different BUT now has changed. Whenever I have said the "I love you the way you are," to guys, I actually meant I thought they were perfect and that their imperfections were actually cute and rooted in some form of the positive anyway. Total acceptance.Totally agree with this. It means althought we have imperfections and weak points, some women/men totally dig us. Well, when I said it once, it meant I was really attracted to her, beside her "minus" points. 'the kitchen could really use remodeling'Expain this, please?
carhill Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Explain this, please? It's a married thing. Don't worry about it.
blueskyday Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I once had a guy say I was so beautiful and that my little flaws were just part of who I was and made me uniquely me. Um, what flaws? That's all I could think. I liked it better when all boyfriends had simply said that I was beautiful, and that I was perfect and flawless, the picture of a perfect woman, wouldn't change anything,....ah, much better...self esteem restored. When I love someone, I don't think they have ANY physical flaws. Their bigger nose is Hot. Their little love handles are Hot. Everything is Hot. Other more mental aspects, like someone who over-analyzes everything, is simply accepted as such. Perhaps kidded about it, called on it, but still considered an attribute in certain times.
blueskyday Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Yeah, Carhill, it's like: "Wow, honey, you look so sexy when you are fixing things around the house. It makes me very horny. I honestly have to touch myself whenever I think about it." That means the kitchen sink is leaking.
Thieves Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Whenever I have said the "I love you the way you are," to guys, I actually meant I thought they were perfect and that their imperfections were actually cute and rooted in some form of the positive anyway. Total acceptance. M'hm. For me, it basically means that I take in all of the little things that make the person who they are and realize one day that, despite how others may see these very things as "flaws" and aspects of the person that could be improved upon, I wouldn't change them for the world. Because it's the way I know them to be. The quality of their personality and the fact that you care so much for them is factored in, and you end up finding some sort of comfort in their imperfections -- whether it's a slightly crooked smile, or a certain dorky way that they laugh, a weird cowlick in their hair, their oddly cute 'chicken legs', how they tend to talk too fast, their picky eating habits, or anything else that can be perceived as noticeably unique to them. So even if you had a model-esque person offering themself up to you one day, for some reason, you feel like you'd choose them over this model person because you love them in your own way. As Blueskyday said, total acceptance.
Feelsgoodman Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Reminds me of the first girl I slept with. Her vagina looked like it could be in an Arby's commercial but she was such a sweet person I told her that I loved her just the way she was...without any unnecessary clarification
