What clothes do you think make the opposite sex look sexy, and do you wear clothes like that for your dates? My current girlfriend has body image issues and is very touchy talking about this subject, but I'd like to bring her out of this because most of it is illusory and tied to self-esteem issues I wish she'd get past.

I generally like anything form-fitting for either sex. What types of clothes do most women like to see on men?

Semi-tight Tshirts and baggy jeans. Not hanging below their butts tho.

I like things that show off his physic but aren't "in your face" about it. When we first started dating he wore shirts a size too small and as much as he looked great, it was borderline douche. I bought him a size bigger and he loves them.

His chest/arms fill it out but it's not skin tight.

I prefer guys who look like "frat boys". T-shirts, jeans, ball caps. But that's just me.

I normally wear "fitted" baby-Ts or long sleeve shirts with jeans and a painters-type cap with pigtails when we go to the local bar. If it's out, something sexier. Summer, shorts, halters & heels/sandals.

I don't know about most women, but I like men to wear anything that is rugged and outdoorsy looking.

Cuffed jeans and skinny ties are the ultimate for me :)

But really a guy in a pair of nice fitting jeans and a button down is good enough for me. I find a good, fun, flowing conversation to be the biggest turn on of all.

I don't like form-fitting clothes on guys. Shirts and jeans do it for me. Personally, yeah, sure, I'd wear what a guy wants for special date nights or bedroom activities, but certainly not all the time. Current bf has no preferences.

Having answered your question - with all due respect, OP, all of the posts I've seen you make about your gf have been about trying to nudge her in one direction or another about her appearance. Do you think that is a good way to approach a relationship.

Depends on the age of the guy.

Personally, I adore men in tweed...:love::love:

Seriously. For special occasions and the occasional romp, I'll take his preferences into consideration but I'm an adult woman who knows how to dress herself the rest of the time. I have a sophisticated style about me that I'm comfortable with and I've never had many complaints so I don't see the need to change that for a dude.

If a guy made a big deal out of the way I dressed and wanted me to dress the way he liked more often or all the time, I think eventually I would tell him he should probably go find someone that dresses like that on their own or who is willing to change for him because I'm not.

Absolutely. She shouldn't have her self-esteem as linked to her appearance as she does, and that's why it's a touchy subject, and I'll never stop trying to get her self-esteem linked to something more stable. If I ever am able to get her to realize her value, I'm really hoping she'll realize that her body is so rare and striking that she really should show it off. :o

I used to be into more conforming shirts and clothing that screamed douche, but I'm now opting more for looser fitting, yet tailored and fitted clothing that doesn't "reveal" too much. I've come to realize that the super-fitted stuff looks a lot better on thin lanky guys. If I wanted a girl to see the physique, I'd take off my shirt...in private, of course...

Hahaha... You're girlfriend might get mad. I can't imagine that being good for her self esteem either :p

^^ This is why I bought my man looser shirts. Although, he sometimes wears a beanie cap with them and I let him know he's going "full douche" :D

Is this slimmer than you wear now, or is this closer to what you gravitated towards and you were wearing muscle-hugging shirts before?

I typically go for guys who dress like a Banana Republic or JCrew ad: tailored but not fitted, figure flattering without being body conscious. The style also says (to me), "I am laid back and far from stuffy, yet elegant and timeless. I live in a metropolitan area but really enjoy the great outdoors."

Yum.

That's a pretty decent fit. I'm trying to steer away from tshirts in general...what I was talking more about were dress shirts that I had very aggressively tailored...but my tshirts now generally fit like the pic.

For a caftan I was thinking something like this.

Hahah, no. It was my meek attempt at humor...squats help make leggings look better on dudes...
