Is there a picture of you with longer hair so we could advise a little more accurately?

Nope, except for one pic that I have which was taken back in around 1992.

People with red hair aren't particularly common anywhere, they are just more common in Ireland and Scotland.

Don't take this the wrong way Ross but perhaps losing weight would help you. Forget all the queer eye for the straight guy advice about hair.

It's just the way the pic makes me look (it always reminds me of Silvester Stallone as the fat cop for some reason).

I do however have a quite a bit of weight around my mid section, but the rest of me looks fine.

But, when I used to have hardly any weight around my mid section, it still never made any difference as far as attracting women is concerned anyway, plus the rest of me looked skinny and I had a gaunt sunken looking face.

Ah 20 years ago. I wonder what you looked like then.

Actually, I do know what appeals to women better than what women say, at one point I had my 15 minutes of girl fame. "Uncle Rico" was past his high school glory days, but he still knew how to throw a football :D

Ross looks too soft/milquetoast, and that's something girls hate and it's got nothing to do with his hair. Maybe you personally don't care, but who cares, you probably have a boyfriend and if you didn't, most likely will never cross paths with Ross.

My advice is for Ross to lose weight (for him, I would suggest cardio-like running and bench pressing) , and perhaps some sort of facial hair like longer sideburns or a goatee.

Straight eye for the straight guy is always the best advice.

Straight eye for the straight guy, huh? lol You know more about what women like than women do? Hmm *snickers* But I do agree with you that he needs to toughen up his look, which is why I suggested the bald head, tough guy look for him. And I would agree that some facial hair might be good--not a lot--maybe that little patch under the lip. The Howie Mandel look would be good on him. Bald head, lip patch. But he says he doesn't like that, so I guess I'm wasting my time here.

I don't think Ross needs to lose weight--he's just a big guy with a big frame. And if you want to find out what appeals to women, you ask women, not men.

I actually have a small frame, but I've put on muscle and weight.

All in today's news:

But as I said - I really fail to see what this has to do with attitudes towards red hair

Ross - your hair colour is fine. I suggest you try growing your hair a bit longer and then go and see a decent hairdresser - not a back street barber where you'll get change out of a tenner.

As I've said, I'm happy with the colour (apart from when it looks darker because of not washing it and/or putting **** in it), and I'm happy with it being short, I don't like how I look when it's longer, it makes me look more weedy and lame.

Most people here consider the violence around Northern Ireland as terrorism too - over 3,500 deaths since 1969 alone.

Why did I bring up Ireland? No actually I did not. You did.

I'm sure they do (consider violence in Northern Ireland as terrorism)--terrorism in any form is a terrible thing. We just have so many of our own issues in America surrounding terrorism and fighting terrorism, that the issues in Northern Ireland are not in the news over here anymore, and haven't been for quite some time. At least I haven't seen it, and I watch the news pretty regularly. I used to read the newspaper pretty much from cover to cover every day, and don't recall seeing anything about that issue for quite some time. Too many of our own problems to worry about over here, I guess.

Buchers chops look terrible, and I'm not sure about an orange goatee either (I actually had a goatee when I was a teenaager, years back, it was a typical teenage phase, and no girls were interested in me then).

I think you look better as a bigger guy--muscles and some weight. Skinny/puny guys are not as attractive, and would not be a good look on you. You look better with the size you are now. Guys can get away with having some extra weight on them. Just makes them look bigger, as long as it's not overdone. Woman can't get away with gaining weight without it being looked at negatively.

Like an idiot, as far as that pic was concerned.

So what are these 'tough guy' clothes that you're talking about?

Look at some pictures of Hollywood tough guys, and you'll get an idea about that. I don't mean to criticize. I think we're all just trying to be helpful.

I hope women don't automatically assume gingers are weak (knowing how women are, they probably do) , it's a mistake that could cost your life. I know a guy whose ginger AND like 5'5 (the ultimate weak man according to women lol) , dudes a firecracker that opens beers with his teeth and constantly humiliates my ass at arm wrestling. Id rather have that 5'5 red haired guy on my side in a fight than almost all the 6' and taller dark haired guys I know.

I honestly don't know where women get some of their pre-conceptions sometimes.

But you was also saying that I look week, as well as the women.

No one has said that gingers look weak.

Well, I certainly feel more confident now I've been told that my hair looks ****, my style of clothing isn't good, and that I look weak and bland. Even though I didn't ask for it.

But, at the same time, I'd would rather people be honest, than to pretend that I look fine if I don't.

Ross, your avatar pic looks terrible. Either of the two with the darker background in your profile album would be better.

I've just pic searched hollywood tough guys on google, and none of their clothes look tough to me, their clothes either look bland and grey with no style, or they're wearing suits.

So according to people on here, I should have a big red bouffant, and wear grey drab unstylish looking clothes or a suit?

Sorry but I wouldn't be seen dead like that.

I agree :)

You look more relaxed and at ease in those pictures which makes such a difference for anybody when having their photo taken

I can't ****ing believe what you've just said.

Can we all see your pic then 'fitchick', so we can give some feedback on it?

No? I didn't think so.

Well, I'm suggesting the Bruce Willis look or the Howie Mandel look for you. Not a suit. Not a big red bouffant.

I didn't say it to be mean spirited so I am sorry you took it that way. I am saying you look good in those other two pics.

Okay, so if I look bad in my avatar and my other photo's, does this pic look any better? (this in my opinion is one of my worst pics).

http://s1126.photobucket.com/albums/l610/RPKGameVids/?action=view&current=qnyfsx55cv_130504822-2.jpg

I actually like that one quite a bit better. Looking sideways at the camera tends to give you kinda... neck-brick, if that's a thing?... which you don't when looking head on, and you just look much happier (and thus better) when you smile.

Well it ****ing comes across like it, maybe you should learn some more tact.

I find it hard to believe that you think there's nothing wrong with telling someone they look terrible, even though they never asked for feedback on how they looked (even if they did, it'd still be wrong).

You're either a ****ing troll, or you have no social skills.

Ross, the white background washes out your complexion. Everyone's skin tone looks better/worse on different backgrounds. Your skin looks much better with the dark background.

I love the photo in your profile with your glasses on :)

Also, I hope you didn't think I was criticizing your hair by saying it looked conservative, and not artistic. A word we use to describe hair cut that close is "tight"....the opposite of "loose". So that is the impression I get.

I think it is a real shame that you feel you need to minimize the redness. Red hair can be SO hot. There is nothing weak about red!

I don't think there is anything weak about red. It's just that everyone else is saying my facial features look 'weak' and bland.

Right now, because of all this, I have zero confidence in how I look, and in ever attracting a girl in real life.

I'm actually starring at my box of pills...

Which is very easy for them to say when they don't put their own pictures up Ross. Rise above Ross, rise above ;):)
