Okay, so this relates to my previous post here: http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t311809/

I am pretty wrapped up in the man I spent new year's weekend with, but things obviously aren't progressing as I'd hoped.

There is another man who actually lives in my hometown and who is funny and sweet. We went out on a first date and there wasn't a whole lot of chemistry. He is a teacher and is definitely like night and day different from guy #1. He's sort of nerdy and awkward in an endearing way. At this point, all I have is a basic level of potential friendship for this man, but he's asked me out again. I have put him off all week long, because I'm all wrapped up in guy #1.

I could seriously use some distraction at this point as I feel I am going a little bit stir crazy waiting and hoping guy #1 will finally decide to call and progress things further....is it wrong to date guy #2 while still so wrapped up in guy #1?

Perspective varies but personally I'm loathe to use humans as filler material.

If potential #2 has honest standing, then date him. If he's filler material while you wait to see if #1 chooses you, then personally I would not date him.

Ya know I was going to make a joke here regarding the term "filler material" but decided not to.

I hated my dating days. Glad they are over. I and was "filler material" in both the good way and bad way. Mostly bad though.

How much do you really know about guy #1?

Are you sure he isn't married? He bought a plane ticket for specific dates then goes MIA? Fishy...I have my opinions but I'll reserve judgement :D I would say please don't lead guy #2 on if you aren't that interested. He's probably a nice guy that wouldn't use and lose you; let some other girl have a shot.
