El Brujo Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 A couple of months ago, I took over as head honcho of 3 different singles groups because their original head honchos were tired of running them. A couple days after New Year's, I finally morphed the group into something I hadn't seen yet: a group for single people who make things. I won't tell you the name of the group or how to find it, but if you're smart enough, you'll figure that out on your own. It's aimed at singles like myself who don't find the bar scene or drinking "fun"---we'd rather make things. And it's in a part of L.A. which has few venues for singles. Well, I quickly learned that the group is likely going to be mostly female, because I've already received requests from a few women to join, but no men yet... already it's not looking like the sort of group where PUAs will want to practice their "hey, baby" skills. So sorry...
Art_Critic Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Well hot damn El Brujo.. good for you.. Now if you could expand the projects some and make more manly projects you will be rolling in it.. so to speak...
Author El Brujo Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 Well hot damn El Brujo.. good for you.. Now if you could expand the projects some and make more manly projects you will be rolling in it.. so to speak... I already make stuff out of wood and metal, I cook and I sew, and everyone on LS knows from my past posts that I'm not a humorless midget... what more could a woman want? I've always wanted to learn how to crochet. Oh sure, I could always buy a DVD and learn from that... but it would be much more fun IMO to meet a woman who can teach me how to crochet (after I've fed her a tasty Italian dinner). Then I could use that new skill to surprise her with a pair of rose-red footie leggings to keep her gorgeous gams warm on winter nights.
spiderowl Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Brilliant idea. If guys can't see the benefits of learning to make something new (especially if there are a lot of females who do), then that's their loss. Well done for trying something new. It could really catch on.
dasein Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 That sounds like a great idea, lots of women out there wanting to learn some DIY. Good luck with the group.
Author El Brujo Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 For once, the PUAs might end up missing out on something more than another notch in their belt. God only knows how many more people the group could get if I tweeted about it...
