I met this girl a while back on OKC, her profile didn't have height specified. After a week of messaging, we met and it was great. Last night was our second date. Wow, never has a lady hit me so hard with butterflies. She had a great personality, super smart, educated, classy, cute and we share a lot in common and we are both super comfortable with each other. Same goes with her, we both know that we are into each other. So I have always been ranting about oh my height requirement for a woman is so and so.. blah blah blah. Well.. she's only 5' and I am 6'. She looks super small next to me.. but I really like this person. It is slightly bothering me now with the height. But wow, I have never met a person like her. I guess this is just a rant. Then you can get your legs blown off because of some road side bomb like so many young servicemen and women have suffered. But then if that happenend, you wouldn't be kidding about getting your legs cut off or making a huge deal out of being a foot taller then a prospective love interest. You'd have a little more perspective about life and how easy you have it compared to people that have had to make real sacrifices and have real struggles in the world. Oh god, get over yourself hun. That's funny, I always find that -- every boyfriend I've ever had has been outside of my "requirements" in some way. I really think it's a good thing. I know it's harder than this but GET OVER IT. you like her a lot! and she seems to like you.. let this thing go where it's going. Worst case scenario, do a lot of things sitting down.

Don't drink the koolaid, the same kind of obnoxious unwarranted response could have been "crafted" for any topic here: "I am self-conscious about being a virgin," "Well go ask a dead 19 y.o. serviceman if he is self-conscious about being a virgin!" "I'm worried that my penis is too small," "Go tell that to servicemen who have had their whole lower bodies blown off!" The thread topic doesn't reflect on you at all, any thinking poster would know you were kidding, and certainly not in an insensitive way.

People are always saying things like "a whole foot taller" and "a whole foot shorter" as if it's utterly freakish. In reality, there are a lot of couples who have that big a height difference (right around one foot). I think when it's over a foot that it becomes crazy. Like, 5' girl with 6'2" guy. Or 4'11" girl with 6'3" guy. I'm five feet tall and just dated a guy who was 5'11". We looked "off"; I'm not saying we didn't. I was always looking at how we look together in store windows or any where that had a reflection of us, and I was always thinking, "yeah, pretty big height difference." But not so much that I thought we can't be together or look silly together. In fact, I thought it kind of sexy. Like, he's my protector. And having sex with him was great too. The height difference wasn't a problem at all in the bedroom.

You are criticizing him for being insensitive to injured servicemen (how ridiculous) and you don't even know how to spell 'enlist'?? Something tells me that enlisting and serving your country has never been very high on YOUR list of priorities. I guess you'd rather let someone someone else do the dying...How patriotic.

I hate to be the voice of reason here, but if you were a proportional height to her (5'5" or so) and not 6' tall, it's a likely possibility you'd have been friendzoned or not even gotten a first date at all. Especially since she sounds like she's all that and a box of Godiva chocolates. Obviously, your height is not an issue to her. She's into you. Good luck...

Don't feel bad for the title of your thread, or allow someone to make you feel guilty for having a dating issue. 95% Of things we all post in the dating forum is going to seem insignificant when compared to a lot of other horrible things that happen to people in the world. That doesn't mean you're not entitled to support or advice. A foot taller doesn't seem all that much to me. My brother is almost a foot taller than I am and he's 5 inches taller than you! I don't ever look up at him and think he's a mutant or anything. Granted, I wouldn't date him- but that's because he's my brother and that would be, well you know- wrong. Are you worried about her perception, your perception, or the perception of others?
