I like to believe that if an individual finds himself or herself in hell, it will be time for them to reconsider things a bit.

All in all I do think that whatever sins which have gone unrepented off probably would be felt there in hell (like in the example given by the OP, pain caused to the mum and others within their disbelief) but within this there would be a final opportunity to decide to call on God, or not.

I reckon most would still curse God, that's why they would be there in the first place. Some won't, some will feel genuine remorse as they see the pain caused in its spiritual form and be forgiven.

As a Mum myself who follows the faith and has tackled the issue of having a child who is gay, I told her that I would come and get her myself, no matter what, if it turns out that my belief that 'love is enough' was wrong and she goes to hell.

I could never forget my child. Never.

I have reasoned that the sins forgiven by those in the faith will outweigh every reason a person could be in hell for non repentance but they will have to see for themselves the end result of their decisions.

.. Which is fair enough really.

Take care,

Eve x
