reptilelover88 Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 My ex and I broke up a couple of weeks ago. I have managed to get over it quite quickly and am pleased with how I am moving on with my life. We have been in no contact since then - for me, once it's over it's over and I don't want anything more to do with that person - but today he texted me!! I have deleted his number but I recognised it when it came up. It was just a nice 'Merry Christmas' message, the usual thing, but I was surprised by how emotional it made me feel. It brought up some painful emotions but also annoyance that he had contacted me while I was with my family on Christmas Day, and amusement that he had broken no contact before me. I have a desire to text him back just to be friendly but I'm resisting it. He treated me very badly and I don't want to be friends with him. I don't owe him anything. To everyone else in the same situation, stay strong!
M2155 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Hey. There's nothing wrong with that if that is how you feel. If it were me, I'd reply "thanks" and that'd be it.
shook187 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I got one too, following NC, i thought not replying would entitle her to ring me, so i replied. "merry xmas to you too." very blunt after she expressed she would always love me. i had to how her my strength.

I wondered that exact thing at a time....if him not replying to a text after him trying desperately to get my attention would make him think I would call...you answered that question :-) I am glad I was right Much Love Zabs xx
