LilEvilG Posted May 31, 2004 Posted May 31, 2004 Pornography & Relationships ... Men & Women ... How would you feel if your partner had an interest? Interesting question? Care to share your thoughts, views, opinions? Do you believe Pornography is responsible for the "Rape" because the police found porn in the "Rapists" home? Do you believe it can destroy a relationship, marriage? Does it have strong impact over humanities emotional realms? Is all pornography bad? average guy Posted May 31, 2004 Posted May 31, 2004 I think you've asked enough questions to write a PhD about. My 2 cents: I've always understood rape to be a crime of violence and domination/power, not about sex (it uses sex as a weapon) so I would say no pron does not cause this type of rape. However, there is also date rape and forced sex which could be a result of some over-horny man, possibly induced by porn, so yes, this type of rape could be caused by porn. Yes it cause detsroy marriages but you should read the many posts anout women angry at their men looking at porn to answer that question. I beleive porn is like advertising in that it does shape our culture. It has been around since men were able to draw and will never go away (as long as there is one last horny man left on earth). And personally, I think that any one who willingly consents to act/pose for pornography and anyone who willingly likes to llok at it, should be allowed to. Everyone else should just not partake in it. However, if porn invloves unconsenting particpants (such as children, people on drugs, snuff films, etc.) then I think the makers should be thrown in jail. I guess that was more like 5 cents
dyermaker Posted May 31, 2004 Posted May 31, 2004 Porn can't *do* anything. It can't rape somebody. It can't destroy a marriage. It can't make you go blind. Some people shouldn't have porn. Some people shouldn't own guns. Some people shouldn't drink... Porn is subjective. What Bob finds pornographic could be what Peggy watches with her girlfriends on HBO.

No. Do you believe it can destroy a relationship, marriage? No. Does it have strong impact over humanities emotional realms? Perhaps it is a catalyst. Is all pornography bad? No, but there are forms of it that I would consider bad. What are your general feelings, motivations, beliefs? About pornography? Once in a while it is nice to get some extra stimulation from it, but I am not really into it that much these days for some reason. Someone recently told me that sex is something important, and to just film it without any emotions involved seemed wrong to her. I tend to feel the same way now. I think that most of the above problems you asked about above are caused by people, and people problems. Porn, I do not think, is ever the culprit. It is very easy to blame porn on such things, rather than your partner, or your relationship, having problems.
Author LilEvilG Posted May 31, 2004 Author Posted May 31, 2004 Recently in a discussion about Pornography, I discovered that most individuals, "Think", "Feel", "Believe" that Pornography Industry is responsible for all of humanities SEXUAL problems. That for men it created a situation where, the male becomes disconnected, that he has a 'sexual" problem, that he is basicly responsible for his S/O feelings of negativity, lack of self-love and self confidence. That the man was cheating. Most went on to say that they would leave there S/O if he engaged or had anything to do with Porn. Most believe that the entire Pornography Industry is singly responsible for "Rapists", "Child Molesters", and creates an unsafe society, of absolute negative energy, instills the fears, suspicions, complete disconnection from humanity. Because the police found pornography at the home of the offender. There fore the industry is responsible for all their actions. I offered only my experience, "Created from MY Perspective, reflect my inspirations, inwards, MY RIGHT TO BE FREE, Freedom of Choice, Thought, LIFE." That they were my opinions, and I did not in anyway wish to impose them on anyone, just "FREELY" expressing them. "Repression" ..... That in almost all cultures and societies, people are increasingly taking refuge in finding somebody else to blame. Many live in a constant state of over confidence and arrogance, or by the same token, any unconscious fears of new experiences or change. Naively and innocence, can be associated with the young, they have no fear of new experiences or change. It is my belief that, any individual through their own single consciousness, expressing lack of self-love and self confidence ,through the individuals own fears, suspicions, lack of trust, jealousies, is there for responsible for ones own mental, spiritual disconnection with oneself. Is not the responsibility of others. It is also my believe that "Pornography" nor the "Industry" from which it comes, is anymore responsible for the actions of a rapists or child molester. To imply that an entire industry, for which this society created, is absolutely arrogant. Accepting responsibility for everything that I am living, thinking, believing, Both in positive and negative. "like people as they are, for there is not a soul without a fault." I was accused of being "Godless", "Truly Evil" and that having an open mind, thinking Freely was a basic sign of the "Devil". Again, I thank you .... for fresh new opinions. ******************************** The Basis of My Life is Freedom The Objective of My Life is Joy The Result of My Life is Growth
Pyrannaste Posted May 31, 2004 Posted May 31, 2004 Pornography & Relationships ... Men & Women ... How would you feel if your partner had an interest? If my bf wanted to be in a porn movie, it would be either the movie or me. Do you believe Pornography is responsible for the "Rape" because the police found porn in the "Rapists" home? no. no way. Do you believe it can destroy a relationship, marriage? Yes. But it would not be pornography's fault. it would be problems of incompatibility/lack of communication/disrespect of the partner's feelings or needs/whatever. Does it have strong impact over humanities emotional realms? I think it does. Is all pornography bad? No. Pornography is not bad in itself. What are your general feelings, motivations, beliefs? Being a woman, not finding it exciting myself (with a few exceptions), and disliking the fact that my bf has a mild addiction to pornography, I wish pornography did not exist. Since unfortunately my wishes do not always coincide with reality, I try not to be jealous/hurt/nagging/offended when my bf watches ponography and I try to understand that my boyfriend is not really doing anything bad or disrespectful toward my feelings. Sometimes I feel I am brainwashing myself doing so. I also believe that there is nothing bad in men(or women) watching porn as long as they are single (or as long their partner does not mind) , unless in the porn appear minors, non consenting people, non consenting animals, or people who *actually* get hurt. I love porn movies where people use condoms. I appreciate people who can watch porn AND reassure their partners about it, making them feel loved. I don't have a bad opinion of people who act in porn movies, I think it is a dangerous job (STDs and all) but NOT immoral. I wish all people in porn flicks and porn pics enjoyed their job, but I think that's far from reality.
