SingleinSouth Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 No one has criticized the fact that these are mirror pics but I got alot of comments about wearing something more revealing in the sweater pic. Am I too covered up? http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff463/dalemor/me-1.jpg
Imajerk17 Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 The headshot on the left is fine. The picture on the right, well.... get rid of it. (A) smile a bit, (B) don't you have any friends to take your picture (the obvious self-pictures using a mirror kind of says "no friends"), © not much skin nor style there--just unsexy in general.
Janesays Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Yes!!!! That outfit totally hides your figure. And the blurry pictures aren't optimal. Take some nice pictures!
Oxy Moronovich Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I'm a 27 yr old dude, so here's my perspective. I like the pic on the left. It says you're intelligent and somewhat sophisticated. I dislike the one on the right. Pics in the mirror is tacky, especially when you can see the camera. It's a little too blurry. Your facial expression says you're either high or bored. The pose is lame. I kinda think to myself, "Would it kill her to crack a smile?" All in all, I'd say take this pic down as it is quite unsexy. Suggestions for another pic: pics of you smiling, at the beach, or on a sunny day are attractive. Yes, wear something a little more revealing. Plus, get a new hairstyle. I see a lot of older women who like nice, only for their attractiveness to diminish because they've got frumpy hairstyles.
lululucy Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I agree completely with the first three posts. Additionally, the outfit on the right is not only an unflattering shape but it's so BORING. There's nothing wrong with being covered up, just a black turtleneck and black pants? Nobody wants to date someone boring. It looks very mid-90s which might make people think it's an old picture. Get one of you out doing something, taken by a friend. In a cute outfit.
oaks Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Being covered up is only one of many problems with the photo on the right, and not the worst one. Blurry, poorly lit, "obviously" taken in a mirror. Could also be improved with a smile. Take your camera to work and go outside at lunchtime with a colleague and get them to take a few photos in natural light. You don't have to tell them it's for an OLD profile if you don't want to. And smile. If it looks suitable wintery outside then nobody will complain that you're wearing a huge sweater, either.

Am I too covered up? http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff463/dalemor/me-1.jpg Yeah let those tig 'ol bitties out, girl!!! Hahahahaha seriously though, showing a little skin is good. Not saying to have major cleavage, but some skin is better then a turtleneck sweater.
Wolf18 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 You're a decent looking lady, but turtlenecks are especially hideous on women. Nothing like a womans soft, supple neck Take another picture of yourself in a sundress and heels, you'll get 100 solicitations a day.

Author SingleinSouth Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 To answer/address a few comments/questions in the other posts, yeah, my camera is outdated. Heck, my technology is outdated so point taken. It is actually a navy blue (feedsack) sweater that I didn't think looked that bad on me but I guess pictures don't lie? And I'm wearing jeans but again, hard to tell. Frumpy hair? Well...I am just a weeee bit out of my twenties. It was kinda annoying about the turtleneck feedsack because I got comments about it from guys without full body photos!!! The nerve! Ok, back to the drawing board.

Ok, back to the drawing board. A feedsack sweater? The name alone would make me burn it. Also remember the camera can add 10lbs. Wearing a feedsack isn't what you should be wearing. Like Wolf said, what about a dress with heels? Or some other form fitting outfit would work too.
Author SingleinSouth Posted December 22, 2011 Author Posted December 22, 2011 A feedsack sweater? I named it that myself, silly. It looks larger on me in a picture than I think/thought it did in person.
Art_Critic Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 The picture of the camera looks great.. does the camera come as part of the date ? Just joking... I think everyone gave you good advice.. mine might also be to color correct the left one to remove all the blue and warm up the skin tones.. Great picture.. just too cold in color for me...
FitChick Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Am I the only person with a timer on my camera? It gives me ten seconds to get ready. I take most of my photos myself. I just switched one taken three weeks ago with one taken tonight because my hair and makeup looked especially good. I made a point of mentioning the date in my profile. Men want to see the shape of your body so while you don't have to show a lot of skin, at least wear something clingy. One of my photos is of me in a tight red tee and tight capri pants. Other shots are of me from the chest up, portrait style. Of course, looking good in photos is a double-edged sword if you don't look as good in person. Such is the curse of photogenic people.
