The message was pious and boring, I would associate it with someone serious and trying too hard. As a first message it just doesn't give any spark of your personality. I understand you were trying to focus on her profile but maybe you could have added a touch of humour, make it witty, while at the same time getting in something about her profile that caught your eye. But no matter what, if she didn't like the look of you, your message wouldn't have gotten you anywhere anyway.

I'd agree with people saying it sounds a little formal, I like these suggested amendments. A lot does depend on pictures but like someone said earlier, not necessarily that you're attractive but how you present yourself. One of the guys I met when I was OLD was not very attractive in his pictures but we got along really well -- and it turns out he's just incredibly unphotogenic because he was probably one of the hottest guys I've dated.

Please tell me that's not your entire profile. Give the ladies something to work with! I never write to guys who have a bare-bones profile because I can't get a sense of who they are as a person and it makes you look lazy if you can't be bothered filling out your own profile.

Yes picture picture picture. Don't change your game, don't stoop to a lower level. Keep up with your good messages.

 

But I have found that a successful rate of message returns (which I have been very successful in past week) is a good fun picture and a well constructed respectful, and fun message!

You don't have to tell everything in your profile, but you need to include enough material to work with. If there's nothing there, what is she supposed to ask about when she writes to you? Your profile should be a jumping-off point to start a conversation. An empty profile indicates an empty person.

An empty profile is a kiss of death on OLD. You don't have to list all the things about yourself but good god say something interesting or you'll never get the phone call so you won't need to be saving anything.
