Iconfessed my love to a best friend whom I have known for 2 years.

I care for her a lot, and we used to talk online everyday. In real life, our conversations can get awkward but gets less awkward if I spend ALOT of time with her (which i did). I was there everyday for her

We became really awkward after the confession. She was cold and did not respond to me. However, she improved a little and made the effort to joke. However, I was noticeably more distant with her because I am afraid she might take it the wrong way. I used to tease and joke with her and now Im cautious of doing that therefore it is still very awkward.

Where do I go from here? She has left the country for good. How do I keep my chances alive? or salvage the friendship? When I try to talk to her online (in the way that I always do), she replies once or twice then starts ignoring my msgs....then when I send her a facebook email, she ignores that too. I know she ignores it as she is doing other stuff on facebook but does not reply.

Why is she doing this? Im being normal but she is being awkward...how do i fix it?

Ask her what the problem is.

Although I'm not sure if I can really offer advice (I'm sort of going through a similar problem), I just wanted to say how sorry I am about it and wish you the best of luck. Perhaps a new year message might be a good idea? I suppose wait for her to first though... what I'd probably do.:)

She is doing this because she doesn't feel the same way about you and she is trying to discourage you to contact her. She doesn't want to hurt your feelings so she isn't telling you outright but she is feeling awkward about the whole thing. I don't think you can salvage this sorry.

She probably feels just a little bit weird about the situation, and there's really nothing you can do to make her feel any other way. Just give it time. If you really want to maintain her friendship, then I would suggest just continue acting like a friend. She'll either get over the "eeeek" feelings...which will take time...or she won't. Whether that happens before you get frustrated and bored with a one-sided friendship? Nobody knows. Gotta just go with it to find out.

I agree with this response. Unfortuantely I think this may just be a lost cause. I'm sorry things worked out this way for you OP.
