How does a guy maintain plausible deniability when called out for "making a move?"

What do you do when you're out with a girl and she corners you with questions like "So. Trying to make a move, huh?" or "Are you trying to get me alone somewhere?" or other inquisitive questions? This has happened to me on a few dates and it always makes me uneasy; like she's trying to trap me in an incorrect answer that'll give her a reason to eject me.

Honestly, sincerely confirm it? Would that come off as too strong?

Deny it? Not nervously, or tripping all over myself, but saying something like "Don't flatter yourself" or "Don't start jumping to conclusions" or "Look who's getting ideas!" Does that come off as too mean?

Or confirm it, but sarcastically? Something like "Oops! Damn, you caught me!" but in a joking, sarcastic tone?

"Why? Should I?" in a teasing tone would do it. Don't say something like don't flatter yourself unless you don't want another date. Look who's getting ideas could be cute and flirty.

Just turn it back around on her and say "wow, someones mind is elsewhere" in a playful way. :p

Confirm it. The earlier you find out if she's interested or not the better.

What a ****ing bitch. Tell her I was interested until now and walk away.

Don't confirm it if it's early on. She may think to herself "yup, he just want's one thing". Maybe you put off that vibe to some girls. I would just turn it back on her in a playful way like I said. That way you save yourself and make light of the question.

You could flirt! Also you could be bold and say something risque!

I've been posed with this question once or twice. I usually just say something like "That's exactly what I'm trying to do!, but you're not making it very easy" sort of like a joking but serious tone. Or "yes i am, I couldn't handle waiting for you to make a move"

Your best option is to respond with something witty/funny or turn it around in a teasing fashion imo.

That was my thought exactly.

exactly how is she communicating it ? the words by themselves don't really tell me all that much; she could say it in a 'yes i'd like you to continue' sort of way, or, 'please stop trying' way. so which is it ?

"I like the way you think."

"What did you have in mind?"

"If I wanted to f-ck you tonight, we'd be doing it by now. I have a bit of a headache though and best I can do is give you a raincheck. You can give me a BJ if it doesn't involve me having to move too much."
