soserious1 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 (edited) It starts around Halloween, the office hens complaining about all the work associated with the holidays.By Thanksgiving the girls are worked up to a crescendo pitch with their litany of complaints. Then the jewel of the holiday triple crown... Christmas.. every working moment filled with the sounds of some woman blathering on about how over burdened she is by activities that are entirely voluntary. The husband or boyfriend doesn't do this and he doesn't do that, there is a constant slew of complaints about the extended family, whining about having to shop for gifts, sniveling about cleaning & cooking. Seriously to listen to how these women talk about their families one would think they hated them. When I try to inject a note of reality testing into these sessions, it's almost comical, I say things like " if you can't do/buy something comfortably then don't" they come back with "if I don't do it nobody else will" well, after hearing that response I said " okay, so if you don't do it & nobody else wants to pick up the task, then maybe that task isn't important enough to worry over" I also suggested that given the problems most of the world struggles with, stressing over what is supposed to be a joyous celebration with family is really a first world problem of the highest order The room went deadly silent.. you could have heard a pin drop, for once the Mona's were silent Edited December 11, 2011 by soserious1
ChessPieceFace Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Nice. But watch out they don't gang up on you and get you fired or imprisoned over a fake sexual harrassment / rape lawsuit.
Author soserious1 Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Nice. But watch out they don't gang up on you and get you fired or imprisoned over a fake sexual harrassment / rape lawsuit. Considering that I'm female that would be interesting, lol though there's more than one that thinks I should be "made" to "help out" by picking up extra work because they're mommies & have sooo much to do.
