How many ladies would not have a problem with a guy doing this after the 1st date?

After your date ends and you are heading home, you send her a text not saying you had a good time but to mention something that happened during the date. Basically continuing the communication after the date but not saying

I REALLY HAD A GOOD TIME which so scripted.

So am I the only guy who has done this after a 1st date?

If it's an awesome date, I love getting that text.

If it was a crappy date, I dread it.

But I mean, as long as you guys had a good time, why not? Don't follow that text with "when can I see you again", just say you enjoyed yourself and you'll talk soon or whatever. Wait a day or so and ask her out again for a day in the future. I think it's a cute thing to do as long as it isn't something creepy. "I love the way your hair falls around your neck" was a particularly offputting one.

Why would anyone have a problem with this? Sending a text after a date to say you enjoyed someone's company is a very thoughtful thing to do, and it indicates interest. Including something specific that happened on the date would be even more thoughtful.

Can you give us an example of something you said as a follow up text to continue the communication.

I did this on two 1st dates in early 2011 and it lead to a second date,

The last two dates I had I didn't send a text that night and I have not seen either girl again lol

I appreciate it either way, honestly.

A person saying what he or she feels is always a good thing in my book.

I find it brave and authentic.

Yes yes, it's cute...

As long as you don't tell her she has "oatmeal" for a brain and that you enjoy watching Three's Company. :p

Something like

"while i'm sitting here waiting for the train I'm still laughing at what you said about....."

Something to show I'm interested to keep the communication going the rest of the evening

I would be very happy to receive a message like this. It shows you were attentive during the date and that you're thinking about her.

The only guy who sends me messages like that is my married friend.

That's very nice.

If things went well for her, that text would induce an instant smile.

That's pretty awesome. I would also like to get a text like that after a successful first date...or second date...or third. :)

There is nothing wrong with a text like that at all. And when the conversation is finished for the night, there is nothing wrong with saying, "oh, and by the way, I had a really nice time."
