Sugarkane Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 A couple has been together x amount of years abd then the dumper meets someone new. Then cheats and throws everything away just to feel the "honeymoon stage" with the new person. Sad.
solobeary Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Yeah it's true. Even more similarities than that, too, for many stories. The dumpee is the kinder, more grounded one who always tried to see the best in the dumper, the dumper is more selfish and unreliable. The dumpee invests more into the relationship emotionally, while a part of the dumper is always looking over the dumpees shoulder for something different. The dumpee can't help but take this personally because they are so invested in the dumper and a big part of them hates themselves for "not being good enough" (in the dumper's mind). I'm not saying that all stories are like this, or that all dumpees are saints (of course some dumpees would have cheated at some point, too), but I do read this in many posts over and over. Sad, indeed.
