Savannah323
Hello, I am a speech therapist and need a mentor/supervisor for her first year. I did not choose her, she was assigned. In the last 3 months, she has flipped out because: 1. I sent an email to our boss relative to sensitive case and thought she should know. 2. I was given help to finish assessments (by our boss). 3. Our boss changed my assessment for a week and she did not receive a courtesy call (from me), though our boss discuss this with her. 4. She reviewed my work til 6:00 p.m. on a friday because I wanted to them done by monday, if possible. However, I did not have time and changed the date. She consistently states she is the best there is and she does not expect me to be like her. She has 15 years experience vs. I who has 1 year...:lmao:lol...of course, she's better. I COULD change her BUT I MAY look like a quiter or someone who "couldn't handle it". Thoughts, suggestions, advice???
Lobouspo
Since you only have nine months with her, you may wanna try and stick it out. If it becomes unbearable or the quality or perceived quality(ie bad evals because of her input) of your work suffers, request mediation with your supervisor or HR. I had a similar situation years ago with my training officer from another agency. She did not like me at first, but i stuck it out and we became friends.
