cantforget Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 I was dumped and wanted to remain friends but he hasn't called for a week (says he wants time to sort life out), so I have been doing no contact for a week now. Thats my quick overview for anyone who has not been following my pathetic soap opera. Thing is, its my birthday tommorow and I want him to call but the question is do I have the right to expect him to call, and do I have the right to be angry if he doesn't? Advice please.
hurtingandconfused Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 No you have no rights on what he should or should not do. Happy early Birthday.
Author cantforget Posted May 28, 2004 Author Posted May 28, 2004 I know what you mean but I suppose what I am really asking is am I justified in getting upset if he doesn't. I would call him if the roles were reversed.
Miss_Prolixity Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Hi Cantforget, I am so sorry that you're hurting. My ex and I broke up two days prior to my birthday, so I feel your pain. But in regards to your question, since you're both out of the relationship, he isn't obligated to call you on your birthday. Although if he is a true friend, you'd think he'd have enough compassion to call. But, I must say since your break-up was so sudden, he might feel awkward calling so soon, even though it is your special day. Anyways-- Happy Birthday to you! I'm wishing you many blessings to come.
pitprincess Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 I agree as well.. Happy Birthday to you I know its hard to set and wait to see if he calls but find you something more to do then waste your time waiting on him to call, You will be much happier on your Birthday :)
Author cantforget Posted May 28, 2004 Author Posted May 28, 2004 He says he wants to be friends but hasn't been doing much of a job at it so far, guess this will be a good test. I have made plans with girlfriends but wont be able to help hopeing he will call. Thanks for all of your wishes.
