I don't want to hold onto false hope or anything. I even know this guy didn't treat me that well (you can read the whole story in my other posts).

But I just want so badly to try things over between us, start fresh so I can show him what a good relationship really is--since his first and only relationship was really bad and ended with his ex leaving him for another guy.

I kind of want to hear stories of the fairy tale ending--guy dumps girl he really likes, guy realizes he made a mistake, guy comes back.

I deleted him from everything so I don't think... or I don't know. I mean if he really cared like he said he did, if he really thought I was perfect, how could he NOT try to contact me again?

My birthday is coming up and I'm trying really hard not to get my hopes up, because I know if he doesn't text me or anything I'll get really upset and I don't want to cry on my birthday.

It all hurts so much and I'm still so lost and confused and angry and hurt and extremely scared to get involved with anyone else. I don't even want to htink of anyone touching me right now. The very thought makes me shudder.

It's normal to feel like that when you're not over someone. Unfortunately, rarely does the fairytale comeback ever happen. They may think of you or even miss you at some point, but it's unlikely they'd contact you to come running back into your life.

I agree with Fiat500. We all make the mistake of thinking that our exs hate us or don't care anymore about us...they really do, but not in the same way as when we fell in love. So once they have chosen to part from us there's no coming back, they are perfectly aware of what they are leaving behind. It can be precious, but not enough to make them stay.

I suggest you to turn off the cell phone on your birthday, or you'll end up looking at it every five minutes waiting for a text from him...

I know, it's not easy. Try to do your best and enjoy the company of people who truly love you.
