oldguy Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I do. But then, I'm one of THOSE men who will still hold the door for a woman & even open the car door. Mine of course, I don't run around parking lots pulling peoples doors open But honestly, I do it as much for myself, to remind me of how I should treat my wife & women in general. And I have been complimented by strangers FAR more than I have ever even gotten a look of discouragement. It was very hard for me to talk about feeling because guys are not only raised to keep their feelings to themselves but to not even allow themselves to feel & the worst is we learn to disguise our feelings to ourselves; 'Anger', often replaces a host of feelings starting with fear. Because anger is more manageable, more manly. I was/am a shrink though but it took me years to reprogram myself.
kaleidoscope Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Ha ha.. I'm finding it hard to find a woman who can express her feelings. Seriously. I'm the one that opens up but they don't! Go figure. Depends on the person I guess. But in general guys grow up differently than girls. More rough and tumble. Fortunately I have both sides.
jobaba Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Just the men you've dated. I have no problems doing stuff like that. Sometimes I'm probably a little too sensitive and open.
kaleidoscope Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 And sometimes you don't need to SAY how you feel. I believe in the end actions are more important than words. But its so nice to hear the right words!
Oxy Moronovich Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Men are not prided for their feelings. Men generally hide feelings because expressing them gains scorn and derision, rather than sympathy.
Elysian Powder Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 feelings =relationship = commitment=obligations= females nesting desires = debt=mortgage=divorce=child-support=alimony= loss of freedom = ruin. Men are thinking with the big head:).
