Young ladies seem to be attracted to older men really bad

Half of the young twenties women I meet start up with me after some conversation, usually a very brief convo, but I suppose them asking if I have a GF, making an obvious point of telling me they are just about to get off work, taking my phone out of my hand and dialing their number with it are just "being nice." I suppose them telling me, "that's not too old" when I rebuff their flirting by telling them I'm old enough to be their father is just "being nice" too.

I'm 5'10", certainly no model, and drive a 10 yr old American car. I have no idea how bad the young men of their age must be to drive them towards men my age, but that younger women today seek out older men is a fact, I watch them doing it to my dad... my DAD. I know the difference between being nice and flirting, you tend to learn that during 20 years or so of dating, and actually prefer women in their early 30s, so is actually counter to my preference.

The ones who treat me completely asexually are the 30+ yr old ones who already have a house full of kids and can tell by just looking at me that I'm not the type who's going to fall prey to helping them pay for their bad choices in life. Interestingly, that's probably the exact same quality that attracts the younger ones.

I think I give off that same vibe.

Or it could be the way I involuntarily flinch when a woman I just met tells me she has more than 2 kids & I just need to meet them.:lmao:

I prefer older guys too. All younger guys want to do is screw around. And jump from woman to woman every 6 months, if even that. Young guys don't appreciate what they've got abd are always looking for that new feeling.

Guys my age aren't the most thrilling of companions. I find it hard to have a deep connection with people that take a week off cos a new video game is out, talks incessantly about cars and get pass out drunk every weekend. I don't like cleaning up vomit, it's just not romantic.

My husband is only 6 years older than me, but it's a world of difference. Even his male friends, I have far more interesting conversations with them than the guys I have known for 10 years from school.

I'm in my early 30's, but look 4 to 6 years younger (depending on who yo ask). And on more than a few occasions while out socializing, I have had girls go from barely noticing me, to talking my ear once they learned my age. The only reason that ever made sense to me, was that they associate age with maturity.

I have dated more women in their 20's since i have been in my mid 30's than i ever did as a 20 something. Of course living at home through college did not exactly make me chic magnet material! I am not filthy rich or sugar daddy material by any means but i have my own house and a decent job. I do think women appreciate men that have better stability regardless of age.

Last night I went out for a couple drinks with a young guy. 22 to my 32 years. He was cute as a button, but didn't buy me one drink even though he kept telling me how attracted he was to me. He also wanted me to pick him and friends up. I told him I wasn't a f*cking taxi and HE should be picking ME up. He ended up driving himself. I was so disgusted. Yes, he's young, but he doesn't know that if you ask a lady out, you should probably buy her a couple drinks? What a jackass he was. I told him there was no chance I would date him because he acted like a 12 year old. He wasn't happy, but couldn't exactly deny what I was saying.

Give me an older man anyday. They are more mature and they know how to treat women.

Older women were not brought up in an era where a man simply breathing wrong will get them chewed out. I do sympathize with women who still want chivalry but other women killed it. Younger guys saw it all and feel no obligation to be gentlemen.

And you are a very attractive woman if i may say so Shannon...better stick with us 30 somethings! !!;)

It's funny because last weekend I went out with a guy friend of mine. He's the same age as the douche bag I went out with last night. He bought me drinks all night long. And it wasn't because he wanted to get into my pants either because he and I are friends and that's it. So some young men know how to treat a lady and some do not.

Hahaha awww thank you. It sucks because I look young for my age and the youngings love me. I'm like some MILFy fantasy for them or something. I don't have kids, but I'm the "hot" older woman. That being said, you can't buy a hot older woman a glass of chardonnay? Chivalry is f*cking dead.

Nah he pretty much wants to get into your pants. In our early 20s, us guys pretty much want to get into every woman's pants, even if we say otherwise.

True story.

Hahahahaha he's got a steady girlfriend. He did have a crush on me a few years ago, but I was in a LTR. So perhaps your right. Either way, if he wants to sleep with me or not, he knows how to treat a woman. The one last night CLEARLY wanted to sleep with me, but couldn't pay $4 for a glass of wine.

Yeah that kid from last night sounded like a real winner. But don't be too hard on him though, he probably spent his booze money on condoms. Sometimes us guys have to prioritize, ya know.

That is because you are a friend. You are on the same level as his male friends and guys look out for their buddies.

Well maybe he could have used one of his condoms last night if he had sprung for a couple drinks. Too bad for him:laugh::laugh:

True, but my friend is the type that if he wanted to date me, he would be a gentleman and treat me to some drinks. We were also out with another guy friend and he bought a few beers for him, but not all of them.

Some young guys are mature and know how to be chivalrous and some don't. It's as simple as that.

Oh those silly youngins, no creativity at all. I would have done a DB Move* on you.

*DB Move= also known as the Double Box move, where you bring over a box of wine and a box of condoms to the ladies house. Hold up both boxes as she opens the door and with a big grin you shout "did you order the pizza with extra sausage bomchikabowowwow" loud enough that her neighbors hear and she has to pull you inside before you embarrass her any further.

It depends on how they raised and what their experiences are.

Hahahahaha smooth move!! Yeah I would love a boy who brought me a box of wine and wanted to practice safe sex. That's a good boy right there.;)

Absolutely. He's an only child and his parents are awesome people. I think he was also treated like a bit of an adult from a young age. That's what I gather from knowing him for a few years now. He's very mature. I would date him in a heart beat if he didn't have a girlfriend even though he's 10 years younger then me.

Oh no, damnit why does every woman think the box of condoms is for sex. The condoms are to make water balloons out of and toss onto cars at the nearest overpass while we drink the box of wine.

The saran wrap and rubber bands discreetly tucked away in my wallet, that is for the sex. Not many stories out there about saran wrap failing on people.

Maybe if we were talking the 5th date...maybe.

Anything before that 5th date is donkey punches and rusty trombones.

All I'm saying is that a weekend getaway to a nice secluded Bed & Breakfast Inn and a Hot Carl goes a long long way in bonding two people.
