HopelessForYou Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 My guy friend has been wanting to be with me for the last 3 years and I am finally giving him the chance and we tried for one week and then he went back to her. But he and his girlfriend just broke up again and he told me to help him not to think about her and not want her so he could be with me without any disruptions. Does anyone has any suggestions on how to help him get over her?
neowulf Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 I hate to tell you this, but you are being used as a rebound. Your "friend" isn't in a place to give you what you want in a relationship. He's damaged goods right now. If you're up for a "fling", fair enough.. but you can *not* help him get over her. The only thing that truly works for getting over someone is time. Not a few days or weeks. Usually between 6 to 12 months, depending on the issues within the relationship. If you're happy to be "rebound girl", then I wouldn't worry too much. Just don't fool yourself into believing it's anything more than that.
