daphne Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I belong to the partnership camp. I think men think about this more than women, because it's traditional for men to be "alpha" so to speak. When I was much younger I had goofy expectations that the guy had to make more than I made. Now, I just want a guy that complements me and we have a solid partnership. We pick up where the other one lacks. That doesn't include dating someone with absolutely no goals or ambitions, however. I am putting off the conversation until a much later time that new guy may have hit the lottery. I'm worried he may be in the majority who would feel beta if he was with someone who had money. I'm planning on reeling him in well before he finds that out.

musemaj11 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 (edited) Women and men have different understanding of what 'love' is. Men see 'love' as giving while women see 'love' as receiving. The fact is that a man is a lot more likely to stick by his aging wife than it is for a woman to stick by her financially lesser husband. Edited December 9, 2011 by musemaj11
