Casablanca Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 So I'm recently single and I wake up to find a Facebook message from a friend saying "we should get dinner sometime and catch up! Just a thought" The thing is her and I have never been really close friends, more aquintences, we had a couple classes together, we did get lunch a couple times on campus, but that was 5 years ago. We have hung in groups with other people in our profession a couple times, but that has really been it. So what caught me as odd is we have nothing to really "catch up" on. Once in a while we would message each other just seeing how the job was going, but now it's an in person thing? Am I looking too much into this? Women your thoughts?
ScienceGal Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 It seems she is asking you out and phrasing it as "catching up" is her "in". It's comes across as innocent and casual at the same time. She is probably genuinely interested in getting to know you better and wants to do that one on one. I once used questions about a local social group to get a guy to go out with me, it worked Being newly single, are you ready to date?
Author Casablanca Posted November 29, 2011 Author Posted November 29, 2011 Being newly single, are you ready to date? I'd say so if it happened, not at the moment going out to find it. I ended the relationship and it was only two months, so nothing super serious. The thing is, I can't say I'm all that interest
