Have you ever taken a person for granted over a period of time?

Like you love them so much, but you kinda forgot about showing it as much? and then resulted in him or her breaking up with you

I wouldn't say I took anyone for granted but after the honeymoon period or after a year or so you do become comfortable with your partner and your not always as attentive.

Never been dumped for that reason.

what made it really hard for me the past two months was that i got a fifth grade teaching job. So i kinda forgot about him in a way. We saw each other everyday, but I was so into teaching that I didn't show him that I loved him i guess. idk :(

i used to believe people actually meant this when they said it. the more i see this recurring pattern, the more i realize it's just another lame excuse for someone to leave.

now, there are two different scenarios here.

1. you date a loser with no job, that sits at home and plays xbox for 21 hours a day, that never speaks to you, calls you at 2am to have sex, and spends 98% of their time with their friends and not you.

2. you have a real job, real responsibilities, and are struggling enough to balance work and sleep, and that at times you really just want to be alone to take a nap or have a night to yourself.

number 1 is a valid excuse to leave someone or say they "don't pay attention to you".

blaming someone for taking you for granted because of number 2? that just means they likely found someone else that's giving them attention and they want to see where it goes.
